I’ve watched all the Xmas films on Paramount already !

Iftheresawilltheresaway · 19/10/2023 21:14

The free Christmas films have been playing since September on free view, sky, virgin. Channels are Great Christmas and Christmas 24.

Any good ones you can recommend? I'm a sucker for a Cheesy Christmas film

Ive not got Sky on at the moment, so can’t say, but there was one that I absolutely could not finish. It was something where she always had to say yes, and the actress really grated on me.

DustyLee123 · 20/10/2023 07:00

One of my favourite cheesy films is Christmas Town. Watch out for it, I’ve not seen it on Sky yet this year.

BaconAndAvocado · 20/10/2023 07:38

Let's face it, they're all terrible!
But I have to watch them 😀

I haven't seen many but there's one called something like A Very Yorkshire Christmas, the male lead in that, Mark Killeen, was in GOT. I have no idea what the plot is though 😉😁

The Christmas Retreat was ok
A Christmas in Switzerland was ok
Christmas in Washington I enjoyed
A Christmas masquerade was ok
Ghosts of Christmas Past I enjoyed
A Glenbrooke Christmas I enjoyed
Loving Christmas was ok
Mistletoe Match ok
My Favourite Christmas Tree was my favourite
My Favourite Christmas Melody was just ok
The Picture of Christmas was a good one
Planes, Trains and Christmas Trees was another good one
Saying Yes to Christmas was a no
Six Degrees of Santa was a good one
There was another one about a female doctor going to a town to cover Xmas, can’t find it now, but that was good

The Nine Kittens of Christmas I’ll only watch when I’m desperate !

Christamas Plus One, A Snowy Christmas and Destination Christmas won’t download for some reason.

If I say it’s good, I mean it’s good for this sort of film, not that it’s a great film !!

sunshinesupermum · 20/10/2023 16:31

I saw a new Chanel Mademoiselle commercial earlier this week and assumed it was the Xmas one.

Leela2 · 20/10/2023 16:43

There's loads and loads of Christmas Hallmark films free on youTube, I spent two days watching some.

Iwillnotdancewiththedevil · 20/10/2023 17:05

There's also a few terrible ones on Netflix too, I love them 😂😂

Ihaveawonderfulpartner · 20/10/2023 17:15

There are Christmas 🎄 films on itv2 also.

Twimum23 · 20/10/2023 17:17

I've had Channel 52 on all day for weeks now 😳.

My 2 favourites are The Christmas Card and Mistletoe Inn. Neither seem to be shown anywhere the past few years 😔

They’re just the ones off Paramount I’ve watched 🥴

RenoDakota · 20/10/2023 18:34

Yayyy about them starting tomorrow! Didn't know that.
Just had a right laugh with my son as we wondered how many will feature handsome homebody owners of Christmas tree farms, toy shops being bulldozed to make way for big corporations, big city exec women going back to their home town, etc., etc., etc.
Love them all. Very much.

ThePlantKiller · 20/10/2023 18:56

@DustyLee123 thanks so much, I'll look out for those, except the kittens one maybe 🤣
@RenoDakota yes they all seem to follow the same basic formula, don't they? Makes them such great comfort-watching!

MaudGone · 20/10/2023 19:01

Saw Stuart Townsend pop up in one of them. Thought he'd retired from acting decades ago.

Ahem you mean your friend has to watch them 😉

mondaytosunday · 20/10/2023 20:03

My daughter and I like to watch a Christmas film most nights - in December though! We also like to watch those old classic Rankin/Bass shows like Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer that I watched every year on TV in the 60s and 70s.
Have to say I love GOOD Christmas movies, but those Hallmark types I can only watch on a rainy Sunday afternoon...

I can't remember much of the storyline to this one but love the scenery and the cosiness.

4intheCorner · 20/10/2023 20:29

I wish we could get full Hallmark access or TV channel in the UK 😔
