Anyone know when these start appearing?

I’m asking for a friend.....

My friend likes those channel 5 ones too.
They start about 2, just great for these autumnal/ wintry afternoons

VivaciousRadish · 20/10/2023 21:39

Does anyone know if the channel 5 ones will be on My5? We’ve got rid of sky this year and I normally record them

Really missing sky plus now, only because of Christmas films, and the Christmas movie channels

youveturnedupwelldone · 20/10/2023 21:41

Ooh I love these. My favourites are the ones with orphans who find an unbelievably loving and rich couple just desperate to adopt 6 really messed up siblings - double bonus points if the adoption happens at Christmas and all the kids end the movie dressed in seasonal tartans.

pumpykins · 21/10/2023 08:05

There are loads on Netflix

Hopefully some new ones fhis year

RenoDakota · 22/10/2023 12:49

Holy shit, there are four of them today! Started at 11:45.
Won't bother with Mrs Miracle, though, as have seen it about 47,000 times.

toastofthetown · 22/10/2023 12:59

I love the Channel 5 Christmas Movies. I also get a month's subscription to Hallmark on Prime for December. I also exclusively read festive chick lit in December. Just picked up a Kindle deal the other day where a Christmas planner is forced to spend Christmas with a man who hates Christmas...

I can't remember much of the storyline to this one but love the scenery and the cosiness.

Lovely film. Rachel Shenton from All Creatures Great and Small is in it. She won an Oscar for The Silent Child.

Let's face it, they're all terrible!
But I have to watch them 😀

Don't you mean that your DFriend has to watch them? Grin

ThePlantKiller · 22/10/2023 13:36

Thanks for the heads up on the ch5 films, sitting down to watch Mrs Miracle now.

@toastofthetown I love reading festive books through December, a favourite is Christmas at the Beach Hut by Veronica Henry. Can recommend that if you've not read it before.

I love, love, love that book! I tend to read a lot of different types of books throughout the year but do enjoy a few festive books in December too Wink

BaconAndAvocado · 22/10/2023 14:30

Oops, yes she does 😂

I absolutely love that book I'll admit I've read it more than once, I've not come across a book for Christmas I've enjoyed as much as that one! I'd love a beach hut at Christmas!

Think I might reread it too @Atomickittyxx Wink

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/10/2023 15:42

Angels In The Snow is a good one. Kirsty Swanson ( the original Buffy)
It has everything you’d expect from a CCF Cheesy Christmas Film.
A sad backstory
A twist in the tale that you’ll see a mile off
And if you get to the end without wanting to throttle the youngest child you’re better than me 😆

Gilead · 22/10/2023 16:17

Ok, this is not on the lines of cheesy films but for a real lump in the throat Christmas Film that’s definitely the best animated Christmas Film ever, you can’t beat Klaus.

Tummato · 27/11/2023 17:11

I enjoyed "Christmas in the Cotswolds" (American flies over to England for her half-sister's wedding).

Tummato · 27/11/2023 17:13

Yes, they're on My5 as well. That's how I watch them.

Elderflower14 · 30/11/2023 19:19

Now starting to watch Christmas In The Cotswolds!

Elderflower14 · 30/11/2023 20:37

Hmm... Not overly enthused!

Netflix is a proper treasure trove of crap films for Christmas! Love it. It’s like an addiction.

Twimum23 · 30/11/2023 20:59

Amazon prime has come good ones
