What’s For Dinner?

Think DH is doing his sausage pasta with tinned tomatoes, onion, garlic & chilli powder. It was posted somewhere as a basic student dish but has become one of our favs.

Chicken kiev with boiled, crushed new potatoes and Ceaser salad. Nice and easy

Leftover medley 😂sausages, mash, half a garlic flatbread, few fish fingers, couple of chicken wings, edamame beans, sticky rice, cucumber sticks, pepper sauce. There's half a serving of meatball pasta too if anyone fancies that. 3 of us and not everyone will have everything. Trying to clear out the fridge and freezer.

It was going to be spicy sausage and leek pasta. But the weather is miserable here and wanted something more comforting so instead it’s toad in the hole with kale, tenderstem broccoli, sprouts and lashes of gravy.

I pan fried a piece of salmon and had it with some spaghetti cooked with garlic, mushrooms and brocoli. simple and straightforward.@EmpressSoleil curious to know what you mean by Spanish chicken? sounds like a recipe I would love...

Creamy leek and pancetta pasta, with garlic bread. Double carbs forever.

Aloo keema with rice for those who want it.

I’m coeliac and stuck in hospital. Every meal they make me choose something and every meal something gluten free (yay) comes but never what I have ordered!

Everyone’s dinner’s sound great!

Roast chicken (pre-purchased from M&S), steamed mixed veg plus some warm mixed bean salad, washed dried en with ginger beer, followed by yoghurt or fruit. 🌹

Chicken with leeks and bacon in cream sauce [a la M&S], Boulangere potatoes, runner beans and brocolli. Sugar free jelly for me and trifle for DH, DD4 and DGS.

Beef chilli and sundried tomato bread followed by homemade Parkin

Minestrone soup. I’m hungry and tired and it only takes half an hour.

I roasted a load of cherry toms, garlic and other veg. Boiled some pasta, made a cheese sauce, mixed all with the roasted veg, tore a mozzarella on top and popped it back in the oven. Gonna leave it 20 mins then we'll see! Never made before but should be nice!

I brown off some chicken with garlic and herbs. Then stick it in the slow cooker with some sliced chorizo, peppers, a tin of tomatoes and some tomato puree. It's really nice.

Chilli bake with a layer of sliced potatoes on the top, coated with butter and sprinkled with a few crushed sweet chilli crisps.

We had the other half of the chilli con carne on Monday with rice, so changing it up a bit today.

Cheesy peasy pasta, simple and comforting.

A sort of winter sausage casserole with dumplings (my husband made it), some crusty bread, and some olive oil shortbread that I just every quickly.put together because the oven's on and I felt like I had justification 😁

@TakeMe2Insanity I feel for you! hospital food is a disaster. I normally get someone to drop off food for me if I am admitted or get deliveroo

9inch megabox for me and the eldest with curry sauce, pizza for the younger pair. DP is away with work. All on its way now thanks to the local delivery service!

Husband making roast chicken pieces with garlic, rosemary and honey. We're having it with roast potatoes and salad.
Might make something quick for dessert, maybe flapjacks or Welsh cakes... decisions, decisions!

Hospital food is atrocious, ime.
At least you're getting gluten free meals.
I'm diabetic and all they could find for me on one occasion was sticky toffee pudding!
Worst of all, it wasn't even nice.

Thanks everyone - I always get some lovely ideas from these threads. DH is busy so we’re having sausages, steakhouse chips & baked beans instead. Yummy!

Pulled pork rolls.

In typical food thread style:

I will "chuck" the pulled pork in the oven at 7;30pm. At 8pm I will "hack" the roles in half and "toss" the pork in the roles.

May "hack" some cheese to go with it.

Then devour" the "tasty" meal.

Homemade lasagne and salad - if DH ever gets back from the pub!
