A couple of things I've enjoyed recently on Netflix. What about you?

A Swedish (subtitled) satire/horror film called The Conference (violent imaginative murders everywhere (looked away at the hot-tub bitShock).

A crime/murder/detective film called Reptile (Justin Timberlake is in it, I never realised until after). Really enjoyed this one.

Also enjoyed the foreigner

Can everyone please stop going on about Lupin! Me and DS are planning on what gong it together when he's gone from Uni Wink

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 17/10/2023 18:27

And also agree about the latest series of Sex Education. They shouldn't have bothered.

Beef was really good - and if you were a grungy teenager in the 90s you will love the soundtrack!

Agree on The Syndicate, gripping and uplifting too.

Love is Blind is good reality TV.

Dear Child is fabulous....however I'm doubting if it's on netflix or not now!

I absolutely loved dear child and it was on Netflix a couple of weeks ago when I watched it.

I also really liked ‘inside man’.

And I’m currently watching ‘Glitch’ which I’m loving and it’s one of those where I can put my phone down the entire time.

Nowherenew · 17/10/2023 18:35

I also really enjoyed black mirror.

Normalsizedsalad · 17/10/2023 18:36

I was very disappointed by the last Black mirror season except the first episode.
Like they were nice stories, but not really Black mirrory, if that makes sense

Normalsizedsalad · 17/10/2023 18:37

@Nowherenew if you like Glitch have you seen Manifest?

Nowherenew · 17/10/2023 18:42

@Nowherenew if you like Glitch have you seen Manifest?

Oooh no I haven’t.
I’ll definitely check it out thanks!

Another vote for Lupin and money heist
both dubbed into English
I also liked the Dahmer docuseries

chickenwings2 · 17/10/2023 18:53

Ozark

terrywynne · 17/10/2023 18:58

I'm watching Heartstopper. I really enjoyed season 1, not quite so keen on season 2.

I am also rewatching Brooklyn 99. For the nth time.

Mary46 · 17/10/2023 19:04

Hereforthedramaz · 17/10/2023 18:20

OP I watched both of those movies this weekend too!

I also watched the series The Fall of the House of Usher.

It's was a good horror/ghost story ish!

Same makers and cast as house on the haunted hill etc which were all very good if you like horror/ ghost stuff!

Really good!

I entirely thought it was a documentary about...Usher 🙈😊🤷🏼‍♀️

@EscapeTheCastle i love Community too! I’ve just seen the paintball episode at the end of season 1 and I laughed all
rhe way through!

Ihaveawonderfulpartner · 17/10/2023 19:10

Another vote for Nobody which is a belter of a film. Think John wick.
Also recently watched Prisoners with jake gyllenhal and Hugh jackman. A psychological thriller about two abducted girls. Good twist at the end too.
The fear street films (there are three) are good slasher films with an 80s vibe.

I'm watching Ozark - yes I know it's an old one and everyone else has seen it, but we only just got Netflix. Loved seasons one and two, season three rather jumped the shark and I haven't enjoyed it as much. Really annoying new character who you could tell was going to be a problem right from the start. I couldn't wait for the cartel to off him Grin

Edited

I'm late to the party too but watching it now and love it!! Always loved Laura Linney but Jason Bateman is a revelation in this!! (And I've watched him grow up on tv!)

Community.
It's from 10 plus years ago and has been available on Netflix on and off for ever but its one of my all time favourite shows now.

Loved Community ...Abed 💗

Dispairrepair · 17/10/2023 19:15

@merrymelodies where ie studio 54 I can't see it on netfkix

Hereforthedramaz · 17/10/2023 19:16

@JustFrustrated Hah! Not an unreasonable assumption!

But I would love to have seen your face if you put it on with that expectation!

20 minutes in, a few murders and wondering when Usher was going to make an appearance!

EarringsandLipstick · 17/10/2023 19:18

I don't like subtitles, but also thinking that dubbing doesn't work at all. It looks so unnatural & 80s-afternoon-Tv like.

So that rules out a lot for me 😂

Prescottdanni123 · 17/10/2023 19:27

I'm late to the party on this one but I've recently started watching Wednesday and love it.

I watched Who is Erin Carter and that was really good.

Lockwood and Co is also really good.

Whatwouldnanado · 17/10/2023 19:30

Heartstopper season 2. Really sweet.

YokoOnosBigHat · 17/10/2023 19:35

magicstar1 · 17/10/2023 14:45

I'm watching Orange is the New Black. I know it's been out for a few years now, but I've never seen it before and am really enjoying it.

I watched this as it "aired" year by year, but I've been in bed with covid for two weeks and am binging. Loving watching if this way.

xyz111 · 17/10/2023 19:47

Beckham. I feel really sorry for him, the English press were horrendous to him after the World Cup.
