A Swedish (subtitled) satire/horror film called The Conference (violent imaginative murders everywhere (looked away at the hot-tub bitShock).

A crime/murder/detective film called Reptile (Justin Timberlake is in it, I never realised until after). Really enjoyed this one.

The Lincoln Lawyer series 2 - really enjoy this.
Reptile - good. One of my favourite actors Benicio Del Toro is in it.
Nobody - good film.

I enjoyed the documentary series about Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Never watched Sex Education but overheard a couple in a cafe talking about how the new series is crap apparently!

Season 3 of Lupin. Although if you have never watched it you will need to watch 1 and 2 first.

I came on to say Lupin. Absolutely BRILLIANT. Watch in French with subtitles.

Orange is the new black just gets better and better

Dear Child is fabulous....however I'm doubting if it's on netflix or not now!

THANK YOU I was desperately trying to find this last night without knowing what it was called (Netflix showed me a preview the other night). Ended up starting Better Call Saul, only about a decade after everyone else watched it. Tonight’s plans sorted!

Veryoldumm · 17/10/2023 16:33

Movie called: Nowhere.
Absolutely smashing movie!

delilabell · 17/10/2023 16:34

@AtLeastThreeDrinks fabulous! I hope you enjoy ❤️

Loved Lincoln Lawyer and a series called Explained, short episodes about all sorts of different topics. They are from 2019 and they did The Next Pandemic which aired just before Covid actually happened and now having lived through it is quite an eye opener. Anything from Cricket to Weed, to the Racial Wealth Gap, Just a bit interesting and only 25 mins or so.

Loved Ozark but had to stop watching, I couldn't deal with the bloodshed.

Pain Killer

I recently watched Top Boy despite it not being my usual cup of tea and really enjoyed it. Start off with Top Boy Summerhouse which is brilliant. It got axed by C4 and brought back by Netflix as just Top Boy. Not as good as the first two series but still addictive.

RollerGirl7 · 17/10/2023 17:20

The good place, 2nd time watching it.

Really good if you're after a light but really watchable comedy and only 25 min episodes

monty09 · 17/10/2023 17:23

Somewhere in between was good.

beetr00 · 17/10/2023 17:30

@tulipsunday

Just fyi, there is an option to change audio from original language to English 🙂

beetr00 · 17/10/2023 17:38

also, can recommend The Fall (2013-2016), it's old but has Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan,
both excellent, as are all the cast tbh.

Archive 81 is brilliant.

PointyPot · 17/10/2023 17:55

@beetr00 we also loved The Fall; terrifying in the thriller sense. Also showed how fast a woman can be incapacitated. Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan are epic in it.

EarringsandLipstick · 17/10/2023 18:01

I loved Ozark Season 4. Season 3 was a bit odd alright.

Just so so good, amazing acting. It's not type of thing ordinarily but I really loved it.

The ending devastated me!

I also really liked Emily in Paris - I thought the latest season was really sweet, there was more French in it & they look & sound amazing.

I selectively watch Black Mirror. Great but terrifying & I need to be in whole of my health for it.

I am working through Suits too. Watched years ago on TV, then it got very silly (even before MM marrying PH). It's really terrible by the later seasons but Gabriel Macht is so glorious I watch it anyway. I'm stressed and busy atm, so it's a distraction that I have on in the background.

Painkiller was really good, I've one more episode to watch.

My favourite Netflix show is Love Life. There's two seasons (linked but not sequels). Anna Kendrick is in Season 1. It's very 'contemporary American' (you'll be speaking all vocal fry after it) but I loved it.

When they see us. Gripping and shocking in equal measure

Cleebope2 · 17/10/2023 18:07

Who is Erin Carter is great fun. Behind Her Eyes is brilliant too. Dear Child very gripping thriller.

This is funny - different tastes & all that.

Who is Erin Carter is one of the worst things I've (tried to) watch. Abandoned. The accent of the main character alone, as well as the sheer implausibility of the plot.

Behind her eyes is the only thing I've watched where I felt totally betrayed as a viewer. I truly hated it.

RubyRubyRubyRubay · 17/10/2023 18:16

Succession.

I don't know how it passed me by the first time round!

Hereforthedramaz · 17/10/2023 18:20

OP I watched both of those movies this weekend too!

I also watched the series The Fall of the House of Usher.

It's was a good horror/ghost story ish!

Same makers and cast as house on the haunted hill etc which were all very good if you like horror/ ghost stuff!

Really good!

Normalsizedsalad · 17/10/2023 18:20

Glory, Reptile, mask girl was interesting, Devil in Ohio and so many more...

The Dahl stories by Wes Anderson are amazing!

Hotcuppatea · 17/10/2023 18:21

Seinfeld. I'm rewatching all of it and it is so bloody funny still.
