Confused - star children?

Today while at work a customer midway through a normal conversation told me that she exists on a different level to almost everybody around her.

She went on to outline all the ways in which she was special, examples being that she was a star child, brought to this earth to create change, that she is capable of seeing the world for what it truly is and that she would eventually expose it.

She then told me that she can talk freely and openly to me as I am an “old soul”. That she could feel the same power in me but maybe Ive lost touch with it as I’ve grown?

I didn’t really know how to respond so I mainly nodded and smiled. I’m in no way a deep thinker. I put a lot of thought into lunch from about 11am and then think about how I made a bad lunch choice from 1pm until about 3pm.

I feel like I was being recruited into a cult. I’ve googled some of the terms she used but it’s left me even more confused!

Any star children on here who can enlighten me?

My otherwise perfectly normal friend think her DS is a star child. Like actually believes it, despite being completely rational in every other walk of life.

The problem is she came across a another fruitcake and this person saying her son was a star child has confirmed it.

We once had a gentleman repeatedly come into the bank I worked in to complain we were using his face on our bank notes. He was really cross about it.

Blimey, 4naansjeremy - poor you! It's bad enough when you get one on a bus, or Metro, but as she was a customer, you couldn't even ignore her!

I'm not religious but I think it has something to do with the decline of religion in modern life. People who believe in nothing will believe in anything. Star children - feathers dropping from their dead mums - it's usually something pretty and childish. They can't cope with the enormity of accepting that we are here and then we're gone.

UnalterableSpaceCadet · 17/10/2023 14:34

She's not on this planet, certainly.

Beautiful3 · 17/10/2023 14:37

It's a bit strange that she would confide in you. However we are reincarnated souls. Many have specifically been sent here, to help raise the vibration of the planet, ninstead of learning life's lessons. I believe some people know as children, but some become enlightened later on in life. She obviously recognises your energy and feels like you're very similar. I wouldn't announce labels and tell people, because it makes us look crazy. I had a spiritual awakening in my 30s, and no I don't drink alcohol or take drugs! Sometimes we get a message, to understand why we're here. It doesn’t make us special, we just all have different jobs to do in this lifetime.

There's loads of these on Tik Tok, and whilst I totally believe in the concept of star seed, indigo children and empaths, I do not believe it's for the individual to declare themselves one.

I liken them to those who describes themselves as 'weird', 'truthful' or 'hilarious', if you truly are these things, you don't need to tell someone as it will come through in your character.

There's a chap on Tik Tok who lectures everyone on the 3D world vs the 5D world and how special and 'awake' he is and he can teach everyone how to be awake just like him, but he gives me the heeby jeebies. I'm pretty sure he'd say it's because I'm scared and not awake but he just strikes me as a bit of a bell end. He never explains anything, always remains mysterious stating he 'has to be careful about what he says' he warns everyone to 'open their eyes' but doesn't actually say anything at all and people literally cling to it. It feels like a power thing for him.

So whilst I believe in all this stuff, I also believe that we are different depending on who is around us and whilst someone might be able to read my emotions correctly, they might read someone else's completely wrong. Anyone who claims to be able to 'read a room' has never read me correctly, and I've never had the heart to tell them (I get quite a lot of people claiming to be able to 'read emotions' to me) because they've always been so insistent about what they are!

LolaSmiles · 17/10/2023 14:42

I'd make a mental note to view that person in the same way I file people who self-declare themselves as "empaths" or self narrate parts of their personality (eg "I'm so wacky and random. People are always like omg Sandra/Dave, you're so off the wall and quirky): nauseatingly self obsessed.

My son says similar. Although he’s a paranoid schizophrenic and living in secure accommodation and not allowed out without at least 2 staff….

At my work place there is a regular customer who often tells me some very odd things.
The latest one being that the local roadworks were due to the fact that the Earth is in a binary star system which the government has known about since 1982, but haven’t told the public yet as it might cause a panic. I’m still unclear how the two things are supposedly related- I simply smiled and said “Ah, I see.”
He is a really warm and friendly person, always saying hello when ever he sees me. I suspect he likes the attention he gets from relaying his strange stories.

@Beautiful3
“It's a bit strange that she would confide in you.”

maybe it is strange but I do all my work in other peoples houses all day every day. My work never requires much of a conversation and yet people do seem to tell me all sorts of things.

I don’t invite it!

Maybe I really am an old soul after all? There are some believers on the thread now. I’m not sure how prevalent a belief it is as it’s taken me 43 years to be aware of it.

I'm intrigued to know how the government has managed to hide the other sun all this time.

There's an old "theory" that the earth has a twin planet that is 180° out of step with us - so permanently behind the sun.

When I first heard this crock interesting hypothesis, I did wonder if it could be proved without needing to see it. Turned out I was right, as that's how science works.

I should point out I don’t really believe I’m an old soul or any of the labels mentioned in this thread.

I’m just so surprised that an entire sub culture has passed me by entirely until today!

I beg you, OP, not to every "dip into" Reddit ....

Maybe because the earth is flat and the other sun is underneath?

Fissssh · 17/10/2023 16:11

I see you've met my mother

Jewelspun · 17/10/2023 16:17

What a great ice breaker if you work for a large organisation/company and you have to attend one of those hideous work training days miles from where you live and have to stand up and introduce yourself to a bunch of people from other offices who also don't want to be there.

That's one way of looking at it.

"Two truths and a lie"
"I play netball. I once met the Queen. And I'm a star child"

Of course Dave Bowman became a Star Child after entering the Star Gate at the end of 2001:A Space Odyssey". I believe his last words were

"...my God, it's full, of stars"

She gets to be a special snowflake without actually accomplishing anything special!

Fissssh · 17/10/2023 16:28

Maybe she's David Bowie reincarnated?

There's a Starchild waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds

Parakeetamol · 17/10/2023 16:29

When someone speaks to me like this I always check my purse/bag because I assume they've got an accomplice pickpocketing in the background as they Witter away about bollocks.

Hybalt · 17/10/2023 16:35

I thought that star children were a bit different from indigo children. Indigo children are nonconforming but your actual star child is half human half deity, afaik. Pretty sure I saw that on ancient aliens one time.
