Lighthearted chat to make a hormonal grumps smile.

It's that 24 hours of the month where I am constantly hungry. And by hungry, I genuinely feel as if I've eaten nothing in about six years. So, as I sit at my desk, regretting my food shopping choices this week, I am thinking about what I would be shoving in my gob, if I'd planned better...So far I have....

  • Smiley faces
  • Those Chicago town microwave deep pan pizza things
  • Crumpets
  • Mashed potato covered in salt and gravy
  • Mr Kipling fruit pies (if they had the layer of custard inside brilliant, if not, I'll happily have it poured on top)
  • A full morello cherry pie
  • Proper hot chocolate made with fat milk and squirty cream

I feel like I'm missing a few things here, I'm just so blinkered with the beige, so what would you stuff into your gob right now, if you could pick anything?

Oh a hot roast pork and sage & onion roll would go down a treat. Or a soft boiled dippy egg with thickly buttered toast soldiers.

Cheese and baked beans toastie. Multiples. And a black forest gateau.

Cheese and biscuits. Add some grapes if you want to feel virtuous!

That roll sounds amazing. Now I want one

I work in Tescos. I have to put out delicious processed yumminess all shift long. I eat healthily because I love veg and well cooked meals but I’m obsessed by snack carbs by the end.
Day off today and I was shopping in different town and bought a meal deal for the first time in 6 months . Mmm snack pork pies and a processed chicken tikka sandwich. Wasn’t all that but I enjoyed every morsel.

@Imamumgetmeoutofhere that was one of my Granny's specials, and it came with a big dollop of gravy to dip it in! Fantastic!

Spaghetti Bolognese and garlic bread
Toad in the hole
Pork belly with cabbage and dauphinois
Apple crumble or treacle tart with clotted cream
Chips and gravy
Maybe a Chinese Buffet

Chip butty. Very fresh bloomer, thick butter, chip shop chips hot enough to melt the butter when you pave the slice with them. Spritz of vinegar, sprinkle of salt, fold and sink in teeth. Pure golden carby heaven.

Four slices of stoneground wholemeal bread with loads of salted butter and Marmite.

A M&S chicken tikka masala ready meal (the orange container one).

An entire tray of extra scrunchy roast potatoes with gravy.

Two chocolate melting middle puddings with custard.

And an entire box of hazelnut Krave with milk.

My 'go to' was shop bought Madeira cake / Madeleines. However, fat element had to be butter, not oil (hoiks bosom). Use by date of the latter was always an eye opener but handy to know if you're a Survivalist (cocks shotgun in case of inadvertently given location of bunker away).

Intention was always to have a couple of slices (or one Madeleine) daintily plated but reality involved me tearing open the packaging with my teeth or any handy implements and devouring contents before my tea was brewed. An element of furtiveness may also have been involved.

I never eat breakfast but this morning I woke up fancying scrambled egg on toast, with crispy bacon and ketchup. No idea why and I had no bread or bacon, so I didn't have it, but I could have been swayed.
