Lighthearted chat to make a hormonal grumps smile.

It's that 24 hours of the month where I am constantly hungry. And by hungry, I genuinely feel as if I've eaten nothing in about six years. So, as I sit at my desk, regretting my food shopping choices this week, I am thinking about what I would be shoving in my gob, if I'd planned better...So far I have....

  • Smiley faces
  • Those Chicago town microwave deep pan pizza things
  • Crumpets
  • Mashed potato covered in salt and gravy
  • Mr Kipling fruit pies (if they had the layer of custard inside brilliant, if not, I'll happily have it poured on top)
  • A full morello cherry pie
  • Proper hot chocolate made with fat milk and squirty cream

I feel like I'm missing a few things here, I'm just so blinkered with the beige, so what would you stuff into your gob right now, if you could pick anything?

It's interesting that most of us are choosing high carb high fat high salt feasts Grin

There's nothing quite like it in the world of healthy eating, is there?

JustFrustrated · 17/10/2023 16:27

I'm in the same boat today. I "joke" that anything and anyone in front of me for longer than 5 minutes is at risk of being eaten.

Right now I could smash

Roast dinner with my stepdads gravy
All the chocolate. All of it.
Pasta...tomato pasta, tuna pasta, carbonara
Toast and Jam (never eat this normally)
A brownie cheesecake pot
A cheesecake

Followed by

Pizza
Calzone
Cheesy chips

Normally I eat averagely well. Cook from scratch but too much chocolate, no fish etc.

But when it is 7 days from my period arriving, I want all the carbs, salt and fat.

All of it

MeinKraft · 17/10/2023 16:32

Some days all I really want to eat is a bowl of crispy roast potatoes with salt and beef gravy to dip them in.

Pollyannamex · 17/10/2023 16:42

God I would love…

Five guys cheeseburger and never ending fries
pizza
those chunky chocolate biscuits from m and s with a really thick coating
cheese on toast
whole loaf of sourdough with salted butter

thelittlefox · 17/10/2023 16:42

I'm on day 8 of carb withdrawal so I'm finding this thread very upsetting.

But I'd go for enough French Fancies to cover the coffee table; pink and yellow ones only.

JustFrustrated · 17/10/2023 19:06

I'm blaming you all.

I went to the shop, and next to it there is a polish bakery. It was closing. Everything is fresh baked that day. So it gets sold cheap.

I just bought a kilo of Karpatka cake and a kilo of cheesecake. For a measly £10.

Roll me to my car in the morning please.

2023shady · 17/10/2023 19:08

I've got a hot honey pepperoni pizza in the oven

Periods started age 9 and I still wonder why I'm crying with rage and wanting CARBS. Then I check my period app and am surprised... like no shit

Whattodo112222 · 17/10/2023 19:20

A cheese sandwich with doorstop bread and proper butter.. with crisps inside and crisps on the side of the plate.

Followed by an éclair.

ssd · 17/10/2023 19:34

Tiger bread baguettes and salted lurpak

Harrriet · 17/10/2023 20:12

Cornflakes or shreddies with full fat milk and banana a huge bowl.
Doughnuts with raspberry jam.
Apple crumble with proper custard made with cream.
Big mug of ovaltine with chocolate fingers to dip
Can't have any of it though, type1 diabetic

chatelai · 17/10/2023 20:37

Pretty sure mine aren't hormonal any more, but I did put away a large portion of generic Tesco 'root mash' and far too much shredded beetroot (the smoky chili Love Beets one) earlier.

Taro mochi.

Roasted milk tea, as little sugar as possible, tapioca boba.

Often get craving for bread and tomato sauce, with chicken cuppa soup to dunk in.

TomatoSandwiches · 17/10/2023 21:03

Off the high praise from another thread about posh chocolates I ordered some from the Highlander, now I just want to leave my current life and move there to be the official quality control person 🥹

ilovepixie · 17/10/2023 21:11

A Chinese buffet so I can have a wee bit of everything.

BigFatLiar · 17/10/2023 21:22

SallySunrise · 17/10/2023 21:27

I'm doing the 16:8 diet and have not eaten enough in my 8 hour window. Rooky mistake.

I'm now craving a greasy takeaway pepperoni pizza with garlic mayo. The kind that's about 70% cheese.

Auntiehero · 17/10/2023 21:41

I'm in the same boat today, all I want is to stuff my face but instead I've had stir fry 😔.

My list 🐷

Chips & thick gravy with loads of salt and vinegar and bread & butter
Battered sausage and chips with curry sauce from the chip shop.
Mars ice cream bar
Beef hula hoops
Tayto Exy Ozys
A proper Morton's roll with tattie scones and square sausage. (I'm a Scot living down south so I always miss this ).
Kinder Bueno
Mixed pakora with pink sauce
Chicken noodle soup from the Chinese.

Wishingwell57 · 17/10/2023 21:43

Right now, I could eat cheesy pasta, with ham and prawns. Plus a bit of chilli for heat.

DilemmaDelilah · 17/10/2023 21:50

Pringles
Cadburys whole nut chocolate
cheese scone slathered in butter
Really good fresh tomato sandwich, on crusty white bread with salted butter
My favourite sandwich of all time... Proper roast turkey breast, lettuce, cranberry sauce, branston pickle, on buttered seeded brown bread, preferably the taste the difference brown multigrain from Sainsburys
Plain chocolate digestives

Gowlett · 17/10/2023 21:52

It’s the weather… I’ve been grazing all day, still not eaten any proper dinner. I’d have Thai hot soup & Prawn Crackers. Yum!

DeeCeeCherry · 17/10/2023 21:55

Cod & Chips
Hot buttered soft baguette
Another baguette but this time with butter & cheese
Sausage roll
patty
Rice & peas with anything
McD's triple cheeseburger with large fries
Apple crumble & custard
Tiger Bread
Magnum ice lolly
Huge bag of roasted salted cashew nuts
Real Scottish shortbread
Bag of Mini Cheddars

All the things I can have only rarely if at all or I'd be huge...

gotomomo · 17/10/2023 21:56
