Strange Virus

Has anyone else had/got an odd virus - it started last week with a mild sore throat that didn't go away. I had that for 2 days then felt a bit better on day 3, but then went downhill rapidly with shivers, then a fever, then began to feel better on day 4. Then last night I woke up with severe ear ache, in lots of pain, and a bad headache.

I've had ibuprofen and paracetamol, and the headache is OK atm, but both ears are now completely blocked and I can barely hear anything.

I did a covid test, just for peace of mind, but that was negative. It doesn't feel like a cold - no runny nose, but have got a tickly dry cough. It's a strange one.

There do seem to be quite a few cross over symptoms with mine. It's a weird one. No idea where I picked it up from but I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I had conjunctivitis 2 weeks ago and just felt ill from that, then i had a sore throat and that has continued for a week as well as feeling super run down. I have a lump on my throat near my tonsils, my throat looks inflamed and I feel fuzzy in the head and tired all over. Also got a chesty cough bringing up phlegm. I don’t know what it is and it’s peeing me off. I just want to wake up and not feel like shit. Got doctors in an hour but not much they can do if it’s viral. Blech!

Yes, DH and I both had it, negative covid tests, and although mine's gone after a fortnight of what felt like teetering on the brink of flu, DH still has a sore throat and the tiredness. I've heard that quite a few other people round here have it too.

Yes. DD has had a virus for 2 weeks now. Flu like at first, now she has lost her voice and gets very tired. If it wasn't for a negative covid test I'd say it was that and a degree of long covid. It's worrying and she's been off school for 2 weeks now (year 6, so she's missing out massively).

Yes it's recurring too.
Will come back 1-2 months after first getting it.
