I'm bored with my Tesco shopping order. Tell me your titillating grocery purchases.

I just let out another huge sigh when adding to and editing my Tesco shopping basket. I'm utterly bored of Tesco and of meh choices in general. What are you all getting from Tesco that have been scratching your food/tasty itches lately? Unfortunately, no Waitrose in our town. We just have Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi, M & S and Iceland. Morrisons is usually more exciting but for this order I need to restock a few items specific to Tesco, so Tesco it is for this round. SIGH.

I currently have about 5 different cheeses, a bunch of yoghurt, eleventy billion kinds of crackers, EVOO, toilet paper and our regular bananas and strawberries in the order. I'd like to try some new stuff. We don't tend to buy crisps, cakes or what have you, just as a guide. We do eat meat though. Please share your tasty choices! I'm sooooo booooorrredddd.

So happy to see others joining in the thread and it’s useful to them!

@happylittlesloth my husband pan fried the chicken gyoza in butter and EVOO I believe. They were good but I think I preferred them steamed in the microwave.

@UsefulSmartPrettyHappy I’ve been wondering about that Caprice Des Dieux cheese for a while now but keep forgetting to try it. I’ll add that to my list for next time. I already have about 5 different cheeses in my cart currently.

I also like their finest ham and mushroom pizza.

Oh yes this is great. The one in the fridge section...ham, mushroom and mascapone. It's excellent.

That’s good to know. I tried M & S’s version at a friend’s house a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it.

So, in case anyone else is a grocery saddo like me and is actually interested in what I chose... here's what I've added to my cart due to this thread and exploring a bit more:

  • Heck meat free chipolatas - new to us
  • Ramona’s Heavenly Houmous - new to us
  • Tempura prawns - new to us
  • Prymat Sarepska Mustard (Polish mustard) - new to us
  • Salmon tails - it's been a while
  • Morliny smoked pork belly - it's been a while
  • Rio Mare tuna in olive oil - new to us (Doesn't Lidl sell this too? Is it cheaper than £4.95?)
  • Pork belly slices - it's been a while
  • We Hae Meat Reduced Fat Sliced Beef Sausage (lorne/square sausage) - new to us

It seems I'm very pork forward right now. 😬 What have other folks tried?

I have been following this thread and enjoyed having new items delivered last weekend! Going to do the same this weekend.

My offer to this group is Castello pineapple and almond cheese - it's super addictive. 100% recommend.

If you like a bit of spice try nduja. It's amazing in pasta dishes.

BoohooWoohoo · 26/10/2023 14:06

Does it go best with a creamy or tomato based sauce?

roundtable · 26/10/2023 14:53

I tried their crab and chilli ravioli a couple of weeks back. They were good. I'm fuming about them stopping their salmon burgers. They were so tasty!

Making notes from this thread, thanks op!

I also like their finest ham and mushroom pizza.

I ate this so much when I was pregnant I ruined it for myself and can't eat it now 😫

ThickSkinnedSoWhat · 26/10/2023 14:58

I was thinking this exact thing last night! I have nothing to add as yet sadly!

PoloMintRoll · 26/10/2023 15:03

The Finest coleslaw and potato salad are delicious from Tesco. The Finest three cheese pizza is delicious if you like pizza!

I also get deliveries and I get tend to order the same foods, whereas in store I'd be more adventurous and choose different things.

UsefulSmartPrettyHappy · 26/10/2023 21:41

They'll be releasing their Christmas delivery slots soon. 🎄

I'd go tomato based.

VelvetUndergrounds · 03/11/2023 08:48

Good Morning All,

I'm starting to compile my delivery order for the weekend and wondered if anyone has any new tips, please?

Also - the Christmas delivery slots are being released on the 7th Nov, I believe - I have my alarm set already (yes, I am that sad...)

UsefulSmartPrettyHappy · 03/11/2023 21:38

I like the stuffed peppers with risotto. They are the Firepit ones that are £2 a pack or 3 for the price of 2.

UsefulSmartPrettyHappy · 04/11/2023 16:28

Also, if you're ordering a frozen turkey the latest they can be delivered is the 15th December. I'm just letting people know as I didn't realise that was the case.

@VelvetUndergrounds
@UsefulSmartPrettyHappy
Thanks both
This is my first year using home delivery for me (Tesco)
I'd not really thought about how it would fit into Christmas Blush

UsefulSmartPrettyHappy · 05/11/2023 17:36

TammyJones
You're welcome Smile

Just so you know, the Christmas slots are released to Anytime Delivery Saver customers, at 6am, on 7th November.

They are released to other customers, at 6am, on 21sr November.

I have never been an Anytime customer, but managed to get a Christmas slot without any problem last year. I think it's just down to luck and is area dependent.

Good luck! Grin 🎄

UsefulSmartPrettyHappy · 07/11/2023 08:47

Christmas slots released today!

VelvetUndergrounds · 29/11/2023 09:43

Morning! Does anyone have any new additions? 😀

The pigs in blankets combo mix crisps are a winner with me and DC who has a very limited diet... just dreading the upset when Christmas and crisps are gone 🙈

VelvetUndergrounds · 29/11/2023 12:38

Oh yeah, they are good!

Forgottenmyphone · 29/11/2023 13:08

Deli Kitchen pack of 4 sliced focaccia makes really nice change from usual bread or pita bread.
Pave D'affinois Bleu mild soft cheese is delicious. Ditto for the limited edition truffle flavoured Boursin.

Tighginn · 29/11/2023 15:17

Can you get a Amazon fresh delivery? It stock's lots of different brands that I don't have locally, booths, wholefoods, ect.

Tescos tillicherry peppercorns are the best, you will never go back to regular peppercorns!

UsefulSmartPrettyHappy · 21/12/2023 12:13

Tesco have got their 15p vegetables this year.

Swede 15p each
Red Cabbage 15p each
Sprouts 15p for 500g
Carrots 15p for 800g
Potatoes 15p for 2kg

Thought I would put this here, in case it helps someone out.
