I am the baker of the family and I have trusted cupcake, brownie recipes etc but Im a bit nervous about creating a dessert table for my niece's party. Any tips greatly appreciated....

The variety would be nice so just do 25 of whatever you're best at

Dotcheck · 15/10/2023 20:36

I agree-
you could do brownie bites with a variety of toppings, Different cup cakes- sounds perfect.

AppleCottageCores · 15/10/2023 20:38

@whereisthecheese thank you!

Im thinking to keep if all individual portions...my brother in law would like trifle...hopefully that wont be too difficult to transport.

Any ideas for little individual desserts- Ive got cupcakes, brownies, individual trifles,

The colour theme is blue, so I want to incorporate blueberries somehow!

Lemon posset is easy to do in ramekins, you could put blueberries on top.

Sexnotgender · 15/10/2023 20:42

Traybakes are easy and always popular, Malteser one is a winner.

Have a look at Pinterest- I just did and saw blue cake pops, red white and blue covered strawberries, blue macarons - tons of ideas there

Mykittensmittens · 15/10/2023 20:44

brownies
blondies (see hummingbird bakery recipe)
chocolate topped flapjack pieces
rocky road squares
mini Victoria sponges

100 people!!! I'm in awe of you.

BigFatLiar · 15/10/2023 20:52

Get some little plastic pots and make individual jellies/trifles/angel delight/mouse.

PartnersInCrime · 15/10/2023 20:54

Gosh I'd think very carefully here. Feeding 100 people isn't as simple as making 50 portions of brownies and 50 cupcakes.... is it? Transport where? Can you her parents buy some in and you make some elements of it?

Mummy08m · 15/10/2023 20:56

Do individual trifles in little ramekins because one big bowl of trifle will look...awful...by the time half a dozen people have scooped into it.

Edit - sorry just seen you've already decided to do them individually!

BigFatLiar · 15/10/2023 20:59

How old is your niece and friends?

Luhou · 15/10/2023 21:00

Mini merringues always work well. Sandwich two together with a strawberry slice and cream in the middle.

How old? A child or an adult?

INTERNETEXPL0RER · 15/10/2023 21:06

Just to warn you that if you do , say, 25 of 4 different types of desert - that the first few tables up will probably take one of each type. So you will have very little left for the rest of the guests.

Also if you do anything vegan or gluten free for guests with dietary requirements , you need to keep them aside or make sure these guests go first. Otherwise they will get eaten by the greedy people in the first group up, who have “ always wanted to try something Gf/ vegan / dairy free “ Hmm .
