Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. I slept late this morning after going to watch the Eras Tour film with the girls last night. We had so much fun, although the audience were mostly quiet & no-one had bracelets to swap 😢 On the plus side, we have a good start on bracelets to trade next year!

We're having a lazy day today - not going anywhere or doing anything much. There are still school shirts to iron for dd2 though & I might wash the towels.

Dd1 has homework for college so she'll probably carry on with that, and dd2 has maths homework she needs some help with so I'll look at that with her.

Otherwise, I plan to spend the day pottering about, and maybe crafting. Could do with getting out in the front garden before it rains again, but maybe not today!

I've got gammon in the slow cooker for later. We'll decide what to have with it later on, when the girls are up. Usually it's eggs, chips, and beans.

Self care Sunday tonight - full scrubby shower, shave the bits that need it (not many since chemo!), file nails/toe nails and maybe paint them. Then either read some more of my book, or more crafting in front of the tv before an early night 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Gosh that sounds like a lovely relaxing day.

I've been up since 7 with my DD who just turned 1. We've got dressed and had breakfast, and a melt down because mummy wouldn't let her play in the dogs water bowl. 🙄
We've walked the dog for an hour around the river. And had a mini melt down because mummy took her out of the pram. Now trying our first 30 minute nap of the day (currently no melt down).
During which I'm planning to do the dishes from breakfast, hoover and pack some lunch up for us both to go and visit my Mum. Spend a few hours with my mum so I can drink a couple hot coffees (rather than microwaving them 10 times before giving up).
Then I plan to get home and get some dinner on for us all, while DD hangs off my leg crying for me to pick her up, maybe a swing in the garden while dinner is cooking. DD will have dinner at 5, and after we'll have a play. Then it's bath and bed for her at 6:30pm. 😮‍💨
Then I'll have a quick shower, DH will finish up our dinner. Then we'll catch up on our series.
Probably spend some more money on Vinted buying clothes for DD and then toddle off to bed. 😴

I'm glad you had fun @lucysmam but I was hoping for everyone dancing and a massive feel-good atmosphere for you!

For once I have a day worth posting planned 😂 Lazy morning drinking coffee in the Welsh Autumn sunshine, then this afternoon I'm slow roasting a chicken while we walk round a gorgeous lake to the beach with a stop at my favourite pub for a hot chocolate. Roast when we get back with a cold white wine. Usually I'm just at home washing, ironing and tidying!

Wishing a lovely day for all of you whatever you're up to.

gingercat02 · 15/10/2023 10:22

Morning @lucysmam
I was looking for you yesterday but missed the thread.

Lots of my friends and daughters have been to see Eras and loved it. Don't think my 15yo DS would be into it!

A self care Sunday sounds fab.

We are decorating the spare room, so we need to finish that, and we're having my Mum for dinner, so I need to prep that too.
Will have a wine or 2 in the evening to chill before work tomorrow

lucysmam · 15/10/2023 10:24

It was still fun @ShipshapeShore , even if we did look slightly nuts joining in with the chants & heart hands on our own 🫶 It was worth it to see close ups of TS's outfits - they're amazing! I feel a beaded bodysuit project coming on but should probably finish some off first!

@PureAmazonian I hope dd has that nap & you enjoy your hot coffees! I still drink mine cold even now because I get distracted when it's hot 🙄

I’m going to London to see Madonna with my best mate as a joint 50th birthday present for us. We are going to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant for lunch first. I am VERY excited!!!

HelpMeGetThrough · 15/10/2023 10:29

Have been up all night with a weird fever, after an infusion I had on Friday, don't feel ill, apparently it's one of the side effects that I need to keep an eye on. So feeling a bit tired.

Just taken youngest off to ref a match. Not sure what to do this afternoon. May talk the OH into a glass of wine or two.

Will have a video call with the eldest at Uni later and then watch something on TV.

I'm under strict medical instruction to take it easy for a few days, so will do as I'm told. Not sure I was meant to add wine to the equation though 😁

Midnightstar76 · 15/10/2023 10:30

Have been up and out for a morning run. Beautiful sunshine here but cold. Frost on the car cold. Had breakfast , crumpet and a potatoe cake, cup of tea. Have put a wash on, darks. Now sat curled up on Sofa finishing second cup of tea. Then off for shower and get ready. Then need to pick daughter up from a sleepover. Then need to go mirror shopping with eldest DD as wants one for her birthday. Rest of plans involve laundry, ironing and making a cottage pie for tea.

wineandmaltesershappyme · 15/10/2023 10:31

Off to watch my husband and a friend in the Yorkshire marathon, it passes the top end of our village twice

ShipshapeShore · 15/10/2023 10:32

@PureAmazonian you're in the thick of it, I promise it gets less relentless.

@HelpMeGetThrough I'm a firm believer in my Gran's saying "a little bit of what you fancy does you good" 😊

dontforgetme · 15/10/2023 10:33

@Chardonnay73 have the BEST time! I am so so so so jealous.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 15/10/2023 10:34

Good morning Lucysmam and others. It sounds like a lovely day ahead just being. I have already roasted a chicken, walked to Aldi and made the Christmas cake which is in the oven emitting christmassy smells. Later I have a very small ironing to do then a quick tidy up. The family are calling round to tell me about their holiday in Portugal. I'll visit mum later on. I bought really expensive pastels so I look forward to their arrival. Enjoy your day

I'll take that as my excuse 😁

Morning @lucysmam and all!

Quiet day for us i think. Ds is full of cold and has a dodgy tummy so we will be having a day in the house. Currently watching angry birds whilst crafting, may put angry birds 2 on later. Spag bol for dinner, can't wait. I have a pounding headache but think it was one to many at our family do yesterday. Considering a Maccies breaky to sort that out!

MeinKraft · 15/10/2023 10:37

Joining my family for lunch today as usual, it's my turn to cook so I've been up cooking since 7.30am but everything's just about ready, now I just need to transport it all!

Then home to read my book (if the children will allow) I'm on Seven Sisters book 4, and watch Strictly tonight. I want to crochet a wreath for my mums grave for her birthday coming up so I need to look tonight at my wool to see if I have anything suitable and try to find a pattern for forget me nots.

It's a gorgeous day here, cold and sunny with blue skies. I have a load of washing out on the line that will hopefully dry up nicely.

daffodilandtulip · 15/10/2023 10:41

Morning! A similar relaxing day here too, after somehow walking 10k at Nottingham open day yesterday! I have started a new book in silence, while DS is still asleep and DD is on a course for cadets.

No big tea here today, as not sure when DD will be back ... so probably bacon butties whenever each of them appear.

I recently started working Mondays again after always working 4 days, so I'm suffering terribly with Sunday blues!

daffodilandtulip · 15/10/2023 10:41

*10km 🤯

lucysmam · 15/10/2023 10:42

@Chardonnay73 have an amazing time!

@HelpMeGetThrough hopefully you feel better soon 🤞

@LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand I'm so looking forward to the Christmas cake smell wafting through my house - have to actually remember to buy ingredients first though...also forgot them on my last shop 🙄

Good morning @lucysmam! Had a lazy start to the day. Just got up and dealt with poor cat with broken leg, she's not happy. Sorted the kittens (still haven't advertised them, may be resigned to them staying forever Grin)
Going to read for a while and then bake. GF scones, sausage rolls, cookies and old school chocolate oaties. Roast chicken for tea and a nice early night I think!

lucysmam · 15/10/2023 10:45

Aw poor cat @Justonedayatatime11 , I bet she's frustrated. You do seem to be keeping allll the kittens 🤣

Morning everyone, glad you had a great night with your girls @lucysmam ..the Eras tour is a mystery to me, what do the bracelets mean? I'm a mum of boys, this stuff passes me byGrin

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 15/10/2023 10:47

Lucysmam it's just a faint aroma at the moment. I am late with it this year. It's crazy as none of the family like Christmas cake but it's part of my Christmas preparations and helps get me in the mood.

Berninaa · 15/10/2023 10:48

I'm back in bed, still getting over COVID and my asthma is playing up, I was awake from 1am until about 5am with it and I had to take DC to work at 7am. I'm reading the paper with. second cup of coffee.

Sounds like a lovely evening @lucysmam.

I need to do some laundry, ironing and take up some trousers of mine which are ridiculously long. Just from Next, standard leg length, my inside leg is 31" and these trousers are trailing on the floor.

Dinner is a spiced butterflied lamb joint which has been marinating in the fridge for 24 hours. Haven't bought lamb for ages as it is so expensive but it was a small joint and I was tempted.

Swim, yoga and pick up DC from work this afternoon. A bit of reading for work tomorrow after dinner.

It is absolutely gorgeous here - the sun is so warm through the window, I must get up, I need to sort my recycling out. I didn't do it last time they came as I was ill in bed and there is so much of it I might have to go to the dump.

Exciting day 😂.

Tarkan · 15/10/2023 10:49

I'm going to try to enjoy today as tomorrow is likely to be stressful.

DC2 (15) has major issues with ASD and anxiety which has led to school avoidance and major meltdowns most mornings. They've had a new reduced timetable which is meant to help but they're still struggling. Tomorrow is the first day of a new term after a two week holiday. The last two weeks have been so nice with getting to lie in and not worry about how stressful the morning will be.

So we're going out together to play Pokémon Go and Pikmin Bloom this afternoon while walking one of our three dogs and might pop into one of the local pubs for a Coke together since all the cafes are closed.

DH and DC1 are both working today.

I also help in our local amdram theatre in wardrobe and tonight is the first panto rehearsal so I'll be popping in to tidy up from the last play and start gathering things for panto.

AlisonDonut · 15/10/2023 10:50

Got up and fed the cats.

Made coffee and had breakfast.

Just processing about 20 peppers for the freezer that I picked yesterday.

Waiting til my OH's flight to take off and then will head to the airport to pick him up.

Them back later for a later Sunday All Day Breakfast sauteed potatoes, scrambled eggs, veggie sausages, baked beans and toast. It's what we have on Sundays during the summer when it is too hot to cook a roast dinner.

Then we will have a stroll round the garden and catch up on TV that we've missed.

Kim82 · 15/10/2023 10:53

Good morning everyone. I had a bit of a lie in and got up around 8.40am, dd9 came down at around 9.15am and has just lay on the sofa on her iPad since then. She’s said she’s still a bit tired today so wants a quiet morning but no doubt she’ll be out with her friends in the street later.

I’m still working my way through the mountain of holiday washing but it should hopefully be finished today then I can finally see my kitchen floor again. The Tesco shop has been delivered and put away and I’m going to visit my mum in hospital this afternoon.

Dd19 is working today, no idea what dd16’s plans are, dh will probably find something to do at home today and will need to be around to watch dd9 while I’m at the hospital.

We’re having spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread for tea then it’s homework and shower for dd9 before school tomorrow and the rest of us will probably watch a film before bed and I might have some of the wine i bought for last night but didn’t drink.
