I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. The heating was on when I came down so it's nice and cosy in here. I'll fling the window open in a bit, once I start moving and doing stuff. Need to decide on breakfast first - I completely forgot to order myself some cereal on my shop 🙄

The washer's on for dd2's uniform, & there are last night's pots to wash, plus downstairs could do with a sweep & mop. Other than that there isn't much housework to be done.

We're having a fairly chilled day today as we're off to see the Eras Tour film tonight 🎵

Dd1 is off to town for snacks to take with us, dd2 says she'll go with her if I've shortened her trousers by the time dd1 is going 🙄. They wanted to get up soon ish so I'll pop up to wake them & grab my sewing threads. Trousers being actually sewn depends on dd2 putting them on to check length though!

I plan to head back to bed for a snooze at some point this afternoon so I make it to the end of the film!

In between pottering, we're going to make a few more bracelets in case anyone is trading. I've made about 30 this week between us, & dd2 has made a few already.

No idea what's for tea yet - the freezer is full so we'll discuss when they're up, and see what everyone fancies. Hopefully something fairly quick and easy!

What about all of you? 🙂

Dh is out for a run. Dd is on TTRS before she heads off to her youth theatre group in a bit. I've just had a slice of toast and then I need to get busy because we're off on holiday tomorrow and I haven't packed anything yet! The cats are out and the dog is asleep, although I think she wants me to take her for a walk because she keeps popping her head up and giving me a meaningful stare.

Chelsea26 · 14/10/2023 09:23

I’m still in bed and planning to stay here for some time! The boys are at a sleepover at their godparents and they are dropping DS1 to football training and then picking him and bringing them both back at 11 - they are awesome!!

This afternoon DS1 is playing golf and DS2 is going bowling, DP will continue his garden room building and I will walk the dog and think about dinner. DP is on call so a quiet night tonight

Good morning, it’s lovely and sunny here. Our first airbnb guests arrived last night, so lets see what they think of the place and what they find that needs changing.

We’re off to a pumpkin patch later (no, it isn’t too early), our son has his first day at his new rugby club, so we’re hoping he enjoys it, he’s quite excited about it, to thats a good sign. I think we’ll likely go out for lunch between the two, we’ll have to see if its a parents stay or leave club, we’re not sure at the minute. No plans this evening, we’ll probably just watch strictly (yay for vpns).

Have a lovely Saturday.

Crunchymum · 14/10/2023 09:26

Hello @lucysmam I hope you are keeping well?

We went out for dinner last night for my dad's birthday. 24 of us (and that was just siblings and our kids) but it was lovely to see everyone.

Swimming lessons for us soon and then we have our first "free" weekend since the kids went back to school. Need to get on top of the housework and need to get prepped as we go away next Saturday but I'm looking forward to having no plans.

DP will take kids out for the afternoon and I'll blitz the house. I think the kids have all voted for the woods.

I really fancy a roast, we don't have them all that often so I'll pick up the stuff and maybe do one tomorrow. Weather looks cold and crisp tomorrow, so we'll go for a long canal walk at some point.

lucysmam · 14/10/2023 09:31

@Simonjt you've reminded me I wanted to get pumpkins on my shop too - so I didn't need to faff about getting them home somehow...guess what I also forgot 🙈

I hope your first guests have a lovely stay & there isn't much to change 🤞

@Crunchymum I'm keeping well, thank you. Excited to go back to work after half term 😊 Enjoy your roast!

Kids are at the stables, picking them
Up at lunchtime and we are going to the Eras movie. They are so excited.

igetwhatyoumean · 14/10/2023 09:35

I'm getting married today! It's an evening wedding, so I'm enjoying a cup of tea in bed just now.

ElleLeopine · 14/10/2023 09:37

I am in bed, and not planning to move far. I have Covid, and am getting through tissues and paracetamol like they're going out of fashion. I am feeling quite rough, and planning just to watch telly and crochet.
I will need to put some washing on, so DD has school uniform for next week.

WmFnKdSg1234 · 14/10/2023 09:38

@igetwhatyoumean ohh! Hope you both have a lovely time Flowers

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 14/10/2023 09:39

Good morning Lucysmam and others. Igetwhatyoumean many congratulations to you and your other half!
I've had two coffees and toast, been to Aldi and I'm getting ready to go out for second breakfast with a friend. Have a good day all

Topsy44 · 14/10/2023 09:41

Currently sitting with a cat on my lap waiting for my DD to get dressed and then we are heading to the shops to get a few bits and pieces.

When we get back I’m going to deep clean the kitchen (a job I have been putting off) but we potentially have some visitors over half term and it really needs to be done.

Hoping I can just flop for a bit in the afternoon while I try and get DD to do some homework and then probably a takeaway and Strictly!

ThreeRingCircus · 14/10/2023 09:44

I've been up since 5.30am, DDs are watching some rubbish on YouTube and I'm just out of the shower, still sat in my dressing gown.

I'm going to have a bowl of granola for breakfast in a minute and then I need to get ready as I'm meeting a good friend for lunch. DH is going to take DDs to the park for a run around as it's sunny and dry.

Dinner will be something really easy, chicken nuggets and chips if DDs get their way which they probably will! Then a film and an early night.

TobiasForgesContactLense · 14/10/2023 09:47

Morning @lucysmam and congratulations to @igetwhatyoumean . Hope you feel better soon @ElleLeopine

I am about to go and shower and dress then take DS to his swimming lesson. I am test driving a new car after lunch as mine is 10 years old and starting to creak a bit. Then I am going for my flu vaccination later this afternoon.

I think we will have hot dogs for dinner tonight.

lucysmam · 14/10/2023 09:48

Oh my goodness @igetwhatyoumean how exciting! Have a fabulous day 💐

Have a beautiful day. I'm so glad the sun is shining for you.

twistyizzy · 14/10/2023 09:52

Got up usual 5am to walk dog and do horse then back home to make sure DD got on the bus to school. Back to yard to bath and then will clip this afternoon as he resembles more a Teddy bear than a horse. Tonight will be spent trying to get rid of all the tiny itchy hairs from every crevice in my body!
Trainer has taken the dog beating due to my bathing/clipping scenario so I'm waiting for the text saying that she is out of control and ran riot on the shoot 😆

Taytocrisps · 14/10/2023 09:52

Morning @lucysmam. I've had a really crazy week at work so I'm enjoying a relaxing morning before I hit the supermarket and do my usual Saturday stuff. It's a beautiful Autumn morning here - bright blue skies and sunshine. DCats let me lie in until 8 which was very kind of them. They're curled up on the sofa beside me having their morning nap. I've booked a hotel in Dublin for a weekend in December so I've been looking at photos of the hotel and thinking of things we might do (other than eat and drink and take in the festive atmosphere).

I'm going to get going and have breakfast shortly. Then I'm going to check out a gorgeous pair of boots I've been eyeing up in a local shop. I hope they have them in my size.

The afternoon will be grocery shopping, laundry, housework, dinner etc.

Looking forward to the rugby later and hoping we can overcome the challenge of the All Blacks.

dontforgetme · 14/10/2023 10:04

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

Slow morning, which is always needed after a busy week. Have had bacon butties and several cups of tea. Going to go through my DD's hair for the 136363th time as she had the little bastard nits this week. I check dc's hair religiously as I fucking hate nits! And I think I caught this lot early as she only had 1 live one and a couple of eggs.

Family do later which we are really looking forward too.

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday.

PurpleSky09 · 14/10/2023 10:06

@igetwhatyoumean congratulations! Hope you have a lovely day.

It's lovely and sunny here this morning but cold. Just having my first cup of tea and then DP and I will spend an hour doing chores before getting dressed and walking into town for a look round, and we might get lunch somewhere. Simple tea tonight of spring rolls and egg fried rice, we'll watch Strictly and have an early night as we are up early to drive to see relatives for the day tomorrow.

Decafflatteplease · 14/10/2023 10:08

Morning @lucysmam and all!

Congratulations @igetwhatyoumean how exciting!

Weve not long been up, one teen still in bed. 4 out of 6 of us had flu jabs this week so all a bit sore and sniffly.

I'm currently battling with the printer trying to print of DC homework 🙄. Technology is great until it doesn't work 😂

Beautiful morning here about to get the usual weekend uniform wash (first of 3) on the go. Debating putting it on the line but the weather app says rain but the sky looks like sun 🤔

We are having a home day today due to aforementioned flu jabs. Homework if I can get it printed, youngest is requesting a playdough afternoon. Maybe get in the garden, I've had autumn bedding I've been meaning to plant for weeks so might finally get that done!

No idea what's for dinner yet, will have a rummage in the freezer. Was mennt to be slow cooker chicken curry but I forgot to lift the chicken out to defrost so....

Have a lovely Saturday all!

Thislittlekitten · 14/10/2023 10:32

Good morning all. @lucysmam hope you’re keeping well. Just love your threads.

Congratulations @igetwhatyoumean Hope your night is wonderful. We went to an evening wedding before and it was brilliant.

I have been up for a while with DS. Dragging DD out of bed so we can go visit some relatives. Half way though the holidays here and I’m finally off with the kids so have fun things planned this week. Today though will be a relaxing one. Potter in the garden later and read my book. Need to think of food for tea.

Kim82 · 14/10/2023 10:40

Good morning all. There’s just me and dh awake at the moment, the 3 girls are still asleep as we only got home from our holiday at 4.30am.

Today will be spent unpacking the suitcases, ordering my food shop for tomorrow, doing a mountain of washing and getting the house back to my standards (ds22 house sat for us and looked after the cats whilst we were away and he doesn’t clean like I do 😄)

Dd19 is taking dd9 to watch the eras film this afternoon and we’re having a takeaway curry for tea then no doubt having an early night.

newyorkinthefall · 14/10/2023 10:42

Congratulations @igetwhatyoumean hope you have a wonderful night.

I've been up since 6.30am pottering about. I've been to Slimming World and Aldi and now I'm home alone as DP is working this morning. I'm going to have a tidy up and get a binbag organised for the dump then try on some new clothes I bought this week.

I'm working at 2pm. Hoping to get the Halloween decorations up and plan our Halloween party as well as some outings and activities this week since it's the school holidays. I'm making pizza chicken for dinner and hopefully we'll get to the cinema tonight to see the new Exorcist movie.

WhatACluster · 14/10/2023 10:44

I have been for my Covid and flu jabs one in each arm (my arms now hurt)

Washing and a dog walk on the cards for today!

I also want to look for a new sofa! Have to convince Dh on this first, I also need to look for some thermal fabric to make some backings for the curtains in the living room

lucysmam · 14/10/2023 10:44

Urgh! Sewing machine is clunking, that's not good 🙄 Hopefully re-threading will sort it or I'll hand sew the trouser hems!
