I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. The heating was on when I came down so it's nice and cosy in here. I'll fling the window open in a bit, once I start moving and doing stuff. Need to decide on breakfast first - I completely forgot to order myself some cereal on my shop 🙄

The washer's on for dd2's uniform, & there are last night's pots to wash, plus downstairs could do with a sweep & mop. Other than that there isn't much housework to be done.

We're having a fairly chilled day today as we're off to see the Eras Tour film tonight 🎵

Dd1 is off to town for snacks to take with us, dd2 says she'll go with her if I've shortened her trousers by the time dd1 is going 🙄. They wanted to get up soon ish so I'll pop up to wake them & grab my sewing threads. Trousers being actually sewn depends on dd2 putting them on to check length though!

I plan to head back to bed for a snooze at some point this afternoon so I make it to the end of the film!

In between pottering, we're going to make a few more bracelets in case anyone is trading. I've made about 30 this week between us, & dd2 has made a few already.

No idea what's for tea yet - the freezer is full so we'll discuss when they're up, and see what everyone fancies. Hopefully something fairly quick and easy!

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning, DS & 1 have coughs/colds so I got up at 6.30, put a load of washing on, decided against ParkRun, and went back to bed. Ds not going swimming, so I'm now on my 2nd coffee.

I'm browsing autumn cook books (Mexican pork with black beans & rice? ), and writing a shopping list. Then I'll food shop and do a bit of gardening. I'll go for a bike ride with DS later to get a bit of air.

Definitely an easy-going weekend. At least the sun is out 🙂

MintJulia · 14/10/2023 10:49

OP, I'm so glad you leave last nights pots and pans for the morning. By Friday night, I just can't be arsed ! Nice to know I'm not the only one.🙂

MintJulia · 14/10/2023 10:52

@igetwhatyoumean Good luck. Have a lovely day.🍾

JesusAndMaryPain · 14/10/2023 10:57

@lucysmam enjoy the film! My DD and I had the best time last night. Took the crowd a while to shake off their inhibitions but I actually feel like I went to a show last night!

Tea and toast here. A run planned, in the sunshine. And making another batch of plum jam later!

CoodleMoodle · 14/10/2023 10:57

Already been to swimming lessons, now just doing the DC's baths and changing their beds.

After lunch we're walking up to the big toy shop down the road. They had parents evening last week and had excellent reports, so I've said they can both have a tenner to spend. Then DM gave them the same so now they've got £20 each. DD wants a specific craft set, DS wants Lego. Might have to go to Hobbycraft for DD instead but it's just over the road so no problem. We'll also go into Currys because they both love it in there...

Sausage, mash, veg/salad and pastry for dinner!

lucysmam · 14/10/2023 10:58

@MintJulia oh yes! They don't urgently need doing so they always wait for Saturday morning. They pretty much always get done every other day because I don't like to be greeted by a pile of pots when I get up, but don't mind on a weekend when the pace is slower than in the week.

That's good @JesusAndMaryPain dd2 has been asking if folks will dance & looking at videos on tiktok but I wasn't sure. She's never been to a concert so is really excited (so am I!) 🤣

Had a busy day and late night yesterday, which drains me more than most due to ill health. Hoped to wake up late, which unfortunately didn't happen, but did manage to lie in bed until after 10 so not feeling too bad now. I'm currently having a coffee in my PJs. We're all off to David Lloyd shortly - DH has a yoga class, DS has martial arts, DD has a swimming lesson and I will have a swim at the same time. This afternoon/evening we're at friends' for pizza and drinks.

I'm getting married today! It's an evening wedding, so I'm enjoying a cup of tea in bed just now.

Wow, that's exciting! Congratulations! 💐

JesusAndMaryPain · 14/10/2023 11:02

@lucysmam oh yes, there was singing from the start and eventually dancing, clapping, cheering and banner waving! Literally from the point of shake it off lol!

Giggorata · 14/10/2023 11:04

Good morning, lucysmam and all. And congratulations to igetwhatyoumean!

Lovely sunny day here and I am, as usual, doing tea and pills.
DH is dog walking and is going shopping this morning. I have written my list and await the inevitable “better than that” surprises when he brings it home.
I will continue tidying and cleaning upstairs. I am in the middle of a massive clear out and change round, but I am having to take it slowly.

This afternoon, I am going for a walk in the woods with two friends and assorted dogs. We are going to be foraging for stuff for Samhain (Hallowe'en) and for handicrafts, as well as just enjoying the wood and the last of the leaves on the trees. I imagine they'll drop quickly, once the predicted cold snap comes in from the North.

Tonight we're out for a pub dinner, quite a gastro one at this pub. It's an early wedding anniversary thing. DH is looking forward to a steak from a local farm and I don't know what I'm having yet.

Morning everyone. I have a bit of a dodgy tum at the mo but hoping it will pass as taking DD14 & her girlfriend to The Eras film this aft. Managed to lie in til 9.30 & have popped to Tesco Express for a few bits. Just fed the rabbits & let 2 of them out. Realised I should have bought more kale as they love it. Sunshine & showers here in Cornwall & I just saw a beautiful big rainbow 🌈 Most of the house needs cleaning but not sure if much will get done, although I will do the loo. Fairly up to date with washing. We probably won’t get back from the film until at least 7 as it’s not a local cinema so picking up chippy tea for me & DH. The girls will have chicken & bacon pasta bakes as DD reckons she’s always ill after eating from that chippy ( she isn’t!) She’s neurodivergent & has some unusual ideas around food. Haven’t got into Strictly this year for some reason so we may watch Greys Anatomy.

EsmeeMerlin · 14/10/2023 11:29

Morning, I have taken my two children to a local soft play. We came when it just opened in the hope it would be quiet for autistic ds2 but a kid has just arrived and keeps screaming and it's getting busier so we will leave soon. We will then walk into town so I can get some shopping and we will get some lunch out. Home for homework and Lego for the boys while I get some house chores done. Strictly later. Nothing overly exciting here.

Chipsahoy · 14/10/2023 12:30

Good morning.
Its a beautiful sunny and cool autumnal day here in north east Scotland. I just love the golden glow of the sunshine at this time of year.
We are preparing to go to America next week to see our family, so packing and a bit of cleaning today. Dh has already been to the tip so we don’t have to leave bins out while we are away.
Happy Saturday to all
