So I have always wondered how come there can be a bit of steak that your knife can’t cut but your teeth can. Yet your teeth are not razor sharp?

Bring your silly questions here because 1) there is no such thing and 2) someone might know the answer!

What is the point of Rishi Sunak?

Cherryana · 13/10/2023 20:52

Is that a silly question???

To answer the steak question, I assume its because in your mouth, your teeth provide cutting and grinding from both sets of teeth, whereas a knife is just 1 cutting edge. Although, I don't think I've ever had steak I can't cut with a knife! Are you using a steak knife?

Why do British people use a washing up bucket in their sink?

Cherryana · 13/10/2023 21:15

I think teeth are amazing!!

Why can my husband only choose awful films? Even when he tries to choose something I'd like 🤔

So I have always wondered how come there can be a bit of steak that your knife can’t cut but your teeth can. Yet your teeth are not razor sharp?

Because the jaw muscle is the strongest muscle in the human body. Much stronger than the hand holding your knife.

Strathyre · 13/10/2023 21:18

So if you've only got one sink, you can tip stuff away down the sink while washing up? That's what I find annoying if I don't use a washing up bowl.

Strathyre · 13/10/2023 21:19

Oops was supposed to be a rely to @SM4713 question about washing up bowls.

Another sink washing up one- why do some people NOT rinse the suds off? Do they think they just disappear? I recall drinking water from a glass that clearly hadn't been rinsed and almost vomited from the taste of suds 😝

My husband recommends terrible and unsuitable films to people which is very embarrassing eg - bloody and violent films to his sensitive sister.

@Strathyre I agree with you , but have found in some other countries they have a smaller sink integrated with the main one so you can wash hands , pour stuff away etc .
Also using a washing up bowl means less water is used .

My question is why do I always get a itchy eye or nose as soon as my hands are wet?

Coldinscotland · 13/10/2023 21:26

My orthodontist told me the tongue is the strongest muscle as it can move teeth.. When dc such their thumb it is the tongue that moves the teeth not the thumb..

Redshoeblueshoe · 13/10/2023 21:28

Why are vacuum cleaners so noisy - whilst electric cars are so quiet ?

Doro371 · 13/10/2023 21:34

My question, just left a plane, is: why is mankind able to invent airplanes and fascinating stuff like that, but it seems impossible to have announcements on said planes that you can actually understand?

Cherryana · 13/10/2023 21:34

I wish I had answers for you all but sadly I don’t.

You could be right ( I have no idea ) but I do know that your tongue is the only muscle that is only attached at one end 😜

Where does that one lone sock disappear to?

WildFlowerBees · 13/10/2023 22:07

Does a cows udder feel similar to a penis, Google has no answers and I'm fed up of being asked, how would I know that?!

Redshoeblueshoe · 13/10/2023 22:10

Wildflowerbees why do people keep asking you that ? Are you a farmer?

No it's one person who randomly brings up that she still doesn't know the answer and do I know, the answer is still no but now I feel I need to know!

I think teeth are amazing!!

Your jaw muscles can exert a force of about a tonne through your teeth. Not sure what we. An do with knives but chewing and swallowing are pretty remarkable processes.

Cherryana · 13/10/2023 22:45

I ❤️ this thread.

Can someone who has milked a cow tell us - does an udder feel like a penis???

I would guess an udder is more squishy?
