With the exception of bread, milk and eggs cereal never seems to last in my household

When I had a couple of teenagers we went through 8 litres of milk every week. I got so tired of constantly buying it

43ontherocksporfavor · 14/10/2023 07:18

@Deathknight boys? My teenage girls barely touched milk. They were more likely to get through Greek yoghurt and berries! Had to switch to frozen berries as so expensive for fresh.

The milk is insane - about 5 litres a day. I get 16 litres every Monday and we run out by the end of the week.

AvengedQuince · 14/10/2023 08:21

Wouldn't this just be typing out my weekly shop, or is it things that don't even last a week?

Draconis · 14/10/2023 08:26

Cheese. Dh does mostly low carb and will eat chunks of cheese for snacks.

verdantverdure · 14/10/2023 14:40

Marmite is lasting less than a week currently. I am buying the Lidl version so perhaps it is smaller or not as tasty?

Wolvesart · 14/10/2023 14:49

Bananas, easy peelers

Funny thing re easy peelers - they have been called that for ages, right?? I tend to get them locally at greengrocer or coop. The DH always does a small M and S shop when he buys meat, fish and cheese on the local market. I asked him to get easy peelers and he thought they were potatoes 😂 He’s the main one who eats them too! 3 weeks later it was raining cats and dogs so I tried Deliveroo Hop. This time I got full sized oranges 🤔

@verdantverdure wow, love Marmite but a jar lasts months here! It’s so salty, how much are they using or do you have 10 kids? 😂

Three kids. I think they might be spreading it on like lemon curd. Grin

Songbird54321 · 14/10/2023 19:55

Bananas. Don't eat them fast enough to buy 2 lots on the main shop before they start to turn but get through them before the next main shop.
Also, bagels. I buy them for myself and my daughter ends up eating them all. Unless I buy 2 packs and then she doesn't touch them. Naturally.
