How much do I weigh? (With pics)

Hi everyone

I'm really struggling with body image at the moment. I weighed myself for the first time in years the other day and was absolutely gobsmacked at how much I weigh. Maybe I'm delusional and do look that big, who knows?

From the these pics can anyone make an educated guess as to how much I look like I weigh? For reference, I'm 5 foot 7.

Thanks again

I can see you have given an update but I would have said 16/17 stone size 20/22.

Bone density does vary but an actual skeleton on an adult women will usually be between 1.5 and 2.5kg. Being big boned as a reason to weigh many more kilograms is incorrect. Larger people can have heavier bones as such but it’s a very small amount.

Cola2023 · 13/10/2023 14:45

20 stone

I'm 5'5, slim and weigh over 9 stone

NowNumber5 · 13/10/2023 14:46

My guess was 16-17 st.

You have a great style @SmokingTeaPot
Love your outfits, especially the polar bear jumper! 🐻‍❄️

BotterMon · 13/10/2023 14:48

Well I would have said 15.5-16st - no way 18.5! Great that you're already a stone down - well done.

Showdogworkingdog · 13/10/2023 14:50

Bin your scales, go on how you feel and how your clothes fit. Life’s too short

Diyextension · 13/10/2023 14:50

I would have said 17-18 those arms look big ☹️

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 13/10/2023 14:51

I'm 5ft 7 too, I'd say 15 to 16 St.

spinspinsugars · 13/10/2023 14:51

Hey OP, you're the same height as Me but I would never have said 18stone! I find at our height we can carry a lot of weight but not look particularly big!? (Or so I've been told!) I would have guessed 13st Flowers

Crikeyalmighty · 13/10/2023 14:52

The other thing I was going to say is not everyone who is overweight piles it all on in the same place. I just got podgierarms and legs and a bigger bum and boobs and face - I didn't ever have a particularly massive big belly - and you look similar OP.

Hope the weight loss goes well- don't get obsessed by it though - it doesn't matter if it takes a good while- it's more about eating well and changing habits

Bedbugfearz · 13/10/2023 14:54

I was going to guess 12 stone, clearly have no clue! But I think you look great!

Weddingpuzzle · 13/10/2023 14:54

I would have guessed different weights and different dress sizes in every single one of those pictures - in the polar bear jumper I'd have guessed approx same weight as me (I'm 68kg). Camera angles and the way you pose completely obscure things. You have amazing style OP.

WoollyBat · 13/10/2023 14:57

I think it is possible to weigh significantly more than you look like you do. Some people have denser bones as well as bigger bones – and bigger bones is a thing, which is why some BMI calculators include a wrist measurement to indicate your frame size.

I'm 5'9" with a big frame and pear shaped. I'm currently just within healthy weight, on the border with overweight. But even when I'm definitely overweight, doctors always say my weight looks healthy, that I'm slim, "obviously your weight is fine" etc then they're surprised that it's 2 stone over what they thought.

So I would say don't worry so much about the numbers - carry on with healthy eating and go by your size and shape.

IVFNewbie · 13/10/2023 15:00

12.5 stone

SallyWD · 13/10/2023 15:02

You look several stone heavier in the first picture than the second picture, I have to say. We're they taken at a similar time? I'm around your height and I think I'd weight between 13 and 14 stone if I looked like you in photos 2, 3 and 4.

LizzieSiddal · 13/10/2023 15:02

Please try another pair of scales, I really don’t think you weight 18 and half stone x

StarlightLime · 13/10/2023 15:02

You definitely don't look any more than 16 stone.

Thegoodbadandugly · 13/10/2023 15:03

17 stone

honeylulu · 13/10/2023 15:07

I can see you've answered but I was going to guess 14 stone so there you go, you carry it well. I love your clothes/ sense of style too.

Please don't get hung up on numbers. Aim for lifestyle changes that will result in a boost to your health (weight loss being a side effect). You can reward yourself with more lovely clothes!

InterFactual · 13/10/2023 15:07

This is a disgusting post by OP and has generated an entire "judge my body" thread. Every single person who gave an answer should be ashamed of themselves for fuelling the OPs neurosis and obvious body image distortion. Mumsnet should collectively agree not to participate in such threads.

If this were your teenage daughter would you encourage her to continue posting her pics online and asking strangers to appraise and judge her body? Absolutely fucking not. You're all terrible people for doing this and OP needs to walk away.

OrangesLemonsLimes · 13/10/2023 15:09

I’d say a little under 16 stone but you look lighter in the polar bear jumper photo - so I’d say 15 stone or a bit less when that was taken.

Off to read your updates now!

OrangesLemonsLimes · 13/10/2023 15:11

Well - I’ve read your update - you carry it well! Especially in the Christmas outfit.

YouOKHun · 13/10/2023 15:18

@SmokingTeaPot why do you want to know what others think? I know you have posted in a lighthearted way but what others randomly guess shouldn’t be relevant. You are lovely whether you are 45kg or 145kg. Your value won’t go up or down when your weight goes up or down.

Sorry, this sort of thread just makes me twitchy and especially if you’ve struggled in the past with an ED. People have been positive and straightforward (as far as I can see) but you could get some very unhelpful responses and weight loss advice and it just doesn’t seem a wise pursuit.

usedtobeasizeten · 13/10/2023 15:19

16 stones.

SmokingTeaPot · 13/10/2023 15:24

Thanks everyone for being so kind and complimentary, it's more appreciated than you'll ever know.

Although I struggle with my mental health I have fought to build a life I'm proud of - I have a cracking husband to be (wedding is next May), a job I love and just generally feel very lucky and grateful to be doing alright in these weird times.

For those who say I should lose weight - you're right, I probably 'should'. And I'm sure I will. Be my eating disorder ruined my life for so many years and I'm not prepared to fall into that trap again. Slow and steady. And yet another reason to bully my partner into getting a dog - more exercise. Manipulation at its finest 👀

Nobody has judged op. Not negatively, anyway.
