Sweets in the shape of fish and bears...

FusionChefGeoff · 09/10/2023 19:47

DD has her heart set on this cake and I'm up for the challenge but it's an American site so their suggestions for sweets don't quite translate. Here's what I've got and what I'm struggling with:

Towels - fizzy strips from corner shop easy
Weeds - got some fondant scraps I can use
Rubber rings - same as above
Surf boards - same

Need help with:

Fish
Teddies
Sharks?
Any other easy ideas that would look good!?

Bassets do jelly sharks.

I saw teddies like that I think on Amazon

ilovepixie · 09/10/2023 19:50

Have you tried Amazon?

SnapdragonToadflax · 09/10/2023 19:50

Morrison's do jelly sharks, they look exactly like the ones on the cake.

Lizzieregina · 09/10/2023 19:50

Oh those teddies are Teddy Grahams and the fish are goldfish crackers! Sorry I don’t know an English equivalent.

Would Amazon be a place you might find them?

SnookFad · 09/10/2023 19:51

Sainsbury's do sharks just like those, about 70p for a small pack

SurfSmurf · 09/10/2023 19:52

Fizzy fish jelly sweets are in most supermarkets.

Finz! are the same as goldfish crackers. Asda used to sell them, not sure if they still do.

Lindt do little gold foil wrapped chocolate bears in their Christmas items, they should be easy to get ATM.
Marks and Spencer Curl biscuits for the fence.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/10/2023 20:09

Those biscuits that the fence is made of are called "cigarettes biscuits".

FusionChefGeoff · 09/10/2023 20:10

I'm ideally starting with normal shops rather than deliveries so definitely heading to Sainsbury's!

Ooh yes great idea for the bears!

I think you'll find bears and fish/sharks in the sweet aisle of most big supermarkets.

Sainsbury's do an own brand pack of 'under the sea' jelly sweets which has fish and sharks but also crabs/seahorses etc.

Haribo Gold bears? I think Home bargains sell them

SpringViolet · 09/10/2023 20:15

I would just use the Haribo golden bears (gummies) for the bears. You can get fizzy fish gummies too. Home Bargains have a big range of those type of sweets if you have one near by.

I read something earlier about a bag of 200 biscuit teddies for a pound, I just can't remember where! Maybe B&M
