What is your Saturday evening Consisting of?

im currently child free, DS15 is out with DP for the weekend , dd11 is at her friends for a sleepover and I’m sat here in the dark with the dog, in silence reading fan fiction….
it’s actually quite relaxing…. My dsis has just called and said she’ll be home soon so I’m enjoying it while it lasts.
what’s everyone else up to ?

Looks like we are all having a jolly good time! Am going to google the tv shows you’ve mentioned. I didn’t realize rugby was so engaging, will try and pay attention 😁

Played a game with DH. Occasionally spectated by a small child who should have been in bed but kept getting up because she 'cant sleep'.

Getting into bed myself now to mumsnet then watch youtube vids relating to my hobby.

I made dinner, then made rice pudding which was lovely apart from the fact I damn near shite myself about 5 minutes into eating it.. probably because I made it with the kids whole milk and not lactose free. I really should learn.

I’m re-watching squid game with a frappe, Greek frappe, and a chocolate cake pop with sprinkles. I might make some pasta later, but I’m taking it easy really.

9pm Sitting at my PC with my cat on my lap. Reading Twitter and MN.

Lodger is home but in his own room two floors up.

I shall go to bed in the next half hour and listen to Douglas Murray reading his book on audible.

Quiche and chips for dinner [nothing healthy going on here!]. Had a quick catch up earlier with DD3 who's recently married and also with DD5 who's got covid and has been quite poorly. I'm relieved that her b/f is with her now. [Brave man - it must be love!]. I'm about to go through my big box of knitting patterns to see if I've got some dolls clothes patterns for a large baby doll. If not, I've got prem baby patterns. We're getting DGD5 Baby Anabel for her birthday and the clothes are truly extortionate to buy! I'm liking the idea of knitting and posting bits down to her - she's 300 miles away in Cornwall so I like to keep in touch and make sure she knows we're thinking of her and Granny is reliving her childhood and enjoying the whole dolly phase. DH is watching crap on TV with DDog who's hoping for something from the box of Maltesers that DH is chomping on.

Put DC to bed, did a little 5k run, had a shower and put my nice weekend pjs on then made steak and dauphinois potatoes for dinner with DH. Currently lying on the sofa watching rugby and drinking a wine glass full of ice and apple juice trying to convince myself it’s as good as a glass of wine 😂😂 DH bought me some very nice chocolates I’m also trying not to just eat all of. I’m not the best on rugby rules so scrolling a bit - very relaxed!

I've been scrolling random shit after an early start with dd1 & wandering Hull Uni for the day. Just about to give up & head to bed I think ready to take dd2 out tomorrow morning (ish).

Mines really stressful. I’m having a mental health crisis. Hallucinations, hearing voices. Voices coming through the tv. DH is ill and not interested in my distress. I’m trying to look after him and not lose the plot. Normally if I start a psychotic episode I can drown out with the tv so voices through the tv is new and frightening. I just want it all to stop.

Ds1 is at the pub with his mates and ds2 is at a party.
Dh and I have been watching the rugby and debating how we will afford for ds1 to go to University. Not a very cheery topic of conversation, but we're on the open day treadmill at the moment so it's at the forefront of our thinking. (Answer, btw, is we won't, but will have to manage somehow...)

I’m tracking dh’s flight on flight radar 😁He lands in 8 hours. Been missing him a lot. Dd2 is fast asleep next to me but I expect she’ll wake for a bottle before midnight. Dd1 is watching gravity falls but going to go tell her to brush her teeth and go sleep now so we can be up early to pick up dh from train station. I might make another coffee before bed. I’m scoffing mint aero bubbles currently. I’ve also got fresh bedding on!
