im currently child free, DS15 is out with DP for the weekend , dd11 is at her friends for a sleepover and I’m sat here in the dark with the dog, in silence reading fan fiction….
it’s actually quite relaxing…. My dsis has just called and said she’ll be home soon so I’m enjoying it while it lasts.
what’s everyone else up to ?

Currently on the last episode of Ghosts.

Just got back from a 15k walk in glorious countryside, pleasantly exhausted. I'm lazing on the sofa MNing and choosing a film to watch after the rugby - my choice because DH and 19yo DS2 are watching Ireland v Scotland and having a few beers together, which is a rare treat for DH since DS2 is hardly ever around to watch sports with him these days! Dinner is in the oven and I am in a very good mood.

We've not long gotten back from an afternoon at the beach, taking advantage of the sunny weather. We had fish and chips on the way home. Straight in the shower and then bed for the kids. Husband now loading the dishwasher after some very heavy hints. Planning on watching an episode of the long shadow which we're really enjoying. Not a very exciting evening but I'm too tired for raving these days.

Utterly wiped out after a brilliant big day out with DC and friends (I have constant pain and fatigue anyway so I mean seriously wiped out).
The DC are both gaming and I'm in bed with a tea and an audiobook. DH is at the pub with friends for the rugby.

Was enjoying a peaceful evening at home, pizza, red wine & my choice of tv. DH & DS out (separately) watching the rugby with friends .. DH came home early as his friends bailed out .. fortunately he is now watching the tv in DS's bedroom so I still have peace & quiet and the tv to myself.

Snap! Son and grandson are away on holiday so I'm sat with a glass of wine enjoying the matches.

Watching tv quietly on my iPad in bed while my 11 week old sleeps… hopefully for a good few hours before the next feed!

It’s lovely that your 17 year old wants to include you in that . I hope when my DC is that age they will do the same .

And I , as you will, bow out gracefully at a point so they can get on with conversations I don’t want to be a party to .

I’m watching crap on Netflix and having a larger. The 9yo is in bed. DH is away.

I'm just about to put my pyjamas on,light a candle,make a chai latte and spend the rest of the evening pottering online on my desktop. Nothing worth watching on tv and don't feel like reading another book just yet,

I’ve got about 35 minutes of peace left, dsis has informed me she’s on the way home… I think she’s tipsy… she’s called to make sure I’m not watching strictly without her…. Asked me if I want a maccy D despite me telling her I’ve already eaten 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’m only watching it this year for Bobby brazier, Nigel Harmon and Adam Thomas, I don’t usually watch it properly. Dog is back snoring after being woken up by some fireworks where she went absolutely postal. So trying to cram in as many chapter as possible.

Watching crap TV. Bored shit less but DH loves it all. Strictly is so bloody tedious.

On the sofa, watching rugby, with wine and DDoggy. Kids at their dad's. I'm living the actual dream 😁

After an incredibly fast paced, hectic (yet fun) week. I've been sitting in silence reading.

Watched Strictly and drinking Rum and Diet Coke less calories than wine . Off to bed soon as working tomorrow.

I've had a Japanese take away and I'm flipped on the sofa with a glass of wine, two dogs and dd.
Had a really busy day, three kids all played football in different locations then met some friends for a dog walk with the two youngest kids.
Early start for netball tomorrow so no wild plans tonight.

I’m in bed in the spare room enjoying the peace - I’m having menopausal night sweats and crap sleep atm so giving DW some peace from me! It’s rather a treat. Kids are both in their rooms. We watched strictly and then had a mad 10 mins taking in turns to leap/ roll/ head stand onto the bed which was fun. And now I have my iPad and book and I am very happy.

We have had gammon, egg, chips and beans (peas for weirdos) for dinner which is an absolute banger of a dinner.

Now watching rugby with wine and DP massaging my feet. DSD is also on the sofa but deep in her phone. DSS and DS2 are rummaging in the pantry for chocolate, DS1 is upstairs playing FIFA.

DH watching rugby, ds, 15 upstairs playing games again. I’m on the sofa. I cooked a good Thai dinner, drank enough wine to feel cozy and am reading this. Underneath I’m bored and irritable as DH won’t discuss half term or Xmas. I hate not being able to plan! Will tidy kitchen..in a mo! Too cozy here 😁

Everyone has gone up to bed, dh because he’s incapacitated, dd2 as she has work in the morning and ds because he’s showering and then going to bed.
I’m just finished clearing up from dinner and flopped on the sofa in the kitchen as it’s closer to the drinks fridge 😂 bought myself a new blackforest boozy thing from hotel chocolat and it’s going down well!

Single parent here.
Just got back from the chip shop with DC's. Resisted chips but have just made two toasties with probably equal or more calories than half a portion of chips.
Mojito in a tin. Gunna watch Octonaughts (oh joy) and then try to stay up late to study. I have an essay due in five days and I've done nothing.

Love these threads! I’m enjoying the peace before DD14 arrives home ( she’s been staying at her girlfriend’s since Thursday). Was feeling really crap earlier but painkillers have kicked in. I am going through the menopause but having the equivalent of a period & it’s totally wiping me out. Scan due as I have had cysts & fibroids a few times previously. Reckon I might request a hysterectomy. I haven’t eaten yet as not much of an appetite. Might just finish off last night’s meat feast pizza. Probably going to watch All Creatures Great & Small.
