Are there any other Halloween lovers out there?

I absolutely love Halloween and all things spooky, love finding/making costumes, decorating the house, all of it!

I’ve just had a really fun morning ‘spooking’ up my hallway after popping to ‘the big’ Asda and finding myself wandering the TWO WHOLE Halloween aisles. I was pretty chuffed as I’ve been barely seeing any Halloween stuff in the shops lately, it all seems to be straight in with the Christmas decorations.

I’m also planning on going all out on the front door decor this year - we get masses of trick or treaters so hopefully they will enjoy it!

Also planning some Halloween crafts with my toddler, perhaps a felt garland or two!

Any other Halloween lovers want to share any ideas for things to do, decorations etc!?

I'm in Ireland and its big here, kids are off on mid term too, they do a pumpin carving comp at school, we go all out, decorate the house, costumes, trick or treating, spooky movies..favourite time of year

Yes, all the November stuff, All Saints, All Souls, All the Saints of Ireland (Nov 6th) blessing the graves (later in November), Martinmas, giving up alcohol 'for the holy souls' for the month . . .

But Hallowe'en kicks it all off.

Pleased that there are a few of us, I rarely see it mentioned on here!

Agree about cooking with pumpkin - I’ve bought a few different varieties this year to try and I’ve lots of recipes pinned to try. Pumpkin risotto is my favourite and also love pumpkin Mac n cheese. DD is 2 and in one of those ‘I don’t want to eat anything but pasta’ phases so I’m hoping I can make something to tempt her with. Pumpkin biscuits perhaps!!

@ProfYaffle do it, definitely do it!

I’ve seen a really fun looking DIY project on Pinterest where you hot glue baubles onto a cauldron to create a bubbling potion. We have loads of baubles so I’m going up in the loft to choose some to sacrifice for the cause!

A very elaborate one but you get the idea!

otoh, a tip for turnip lantern fans, a Parisienne cutter / melon baller works very well, limits the probability of slicing your hand off, and the turnip is a nice (imo) addition to the colcannon.

I absolutely love it! I’m a crocheter and have made lots of pumpkins for the house as well ghost and pumpkin bunting 🎃👻

Sorry that last post was meant to be in response to this:

I can’t show the bunting as it would definitely give me away for anyone who knew me but these are a few of the pumpkins 🎃

I absolutely love it and halloween slideshows and collages are a must at our house 😂My DH also loves decorations and horror movies, so we're having a spooky blast all throughout October.
