It's 19.5 degrees C. in my house currently (East Mids). It feel it'scold although I don't fancy putting the heating on when that's quite a normal temp so holding off. What about you?

It is 18C outside, but 21.5C inside. Heat is shut off has been since April.
I have a conservatory that acts as a passive solar heater in these months.
I have the door open right now as it was getting a bit too hot.

cocksstrideintheevening · 05/10/2023 14:49

It's 24.5 in my 'office' right now which is in the loft conversion. SE London. No need for heating yet!

PurpleMonkeys · 05/10/2023 14:53

Do people have thermometers?
I dont. Why? Don't get it at all.

No heating as yet. Still sitting around with windows opens and t-shirts on. Very mild.

It's part of the heating system I have..
so you set the thermostat to kick in if it drops below a certain temp
Surely most systems have a thermostat if they're from the last 20 years?

Shadyboots23 · 05/10/2023 14:55

I read that wrong! But you just look at the temp on the display, I don't have an actual thermometer

Thesearmsofmine · 05/10/2023 15:02

16 here, no heating yet but I do have cosy socks and a jumper on. Dc are apparently warm enough in short sleeve t shirts still 🙄 definitely going to try and get to the end of cot world before we put the heating on.

XenoBitch · 05/10/2023 15:02

17C inside. I have windows open, and also the back door. Is a nice temp for me. No heating on

AngelsWithSilverWings · 05/10/2023 15:07

In Essex ( south) and it's 22 in my house right now and 21 in the garden office which has had the doors wide open all day. Can't imagine we will be needing heating for a few weeks yet. Walking around today in a summer dress with bare legs and feet. Managed to dry three loads of washing on the line already today. Enjoying it while it lasts.

ShadowsontheHill · 05/10/2023 15:07

19.1 also East Mids but it feels much colder but not putting heating on yet. I am a bit under the weather though.

CrazyHamsterLady · 05/10/2023 15:10

I’m in Florida (on holiday I might add) so it’s 25 degrees with air con. Yesterday, it was 33 degrees outside but the humidity made it seem a lot higher. At home, U.K., it’s been regularly 18-21 (new build) so no need for heating.

crosstalk · 05/10/2023 15:15

17 in Eastern England. Layered up, no CH.

therealcookiemonster · 05/10/2023 15:38

18.1 in the coldest room in the house. but I heat the house room by room and normally keep the rooms in use between 22 - 23 degrees. seems like a lot but this is with me wearing multiple layers + jumpers. I run very cold.

user1483387154 · 05/10/2023 15:42

19 degrees but all the windows are open, however when in full winter its still about 19 degrees but then with the windows shut. I havent used the heating in about 2 years now.

Whatissheliketwelve · 05/10/2023 15:46

20.3 in my living room at the moment (suffolk) no heating needed yet!

Colourfulponderings · 05/10/2023 15:48

16, no heating. It won’t go on until it’s 12/13 and we’re cold even in hats and coats.

Not because of the energy prices - we’ve always done it.

Decafflatteplease · 05/10/2023 16:22

Currently sat in the lounge and it's 17.8 with 77% humidity. Had the dehumidifier on from 11-3. It's rained all day and when it's raining the humidity in our house shoots up, on dry days it's around 60. I swear the rain seeps through the walls.

No heating yet as we can't afford to use up our credit yet.

SnowflakeCity · 05/10/2023 16:24

I'm not sure what the temp is but I've got the window open so definitely not thinking about heat today anyway.

Lizzieregina · 05/10/2023 16:26

It’s 25c in my house today. No heat yet, but probably will be needed by next week. Midwest America.

Ragruggers · 05/10/2023 16:30

Pootle40 · 05/10/2023 16:30

It was 16.8c 10 minutes ago so put it on for 30 minutes. This is 3rd time had it on since Summer ended.

melmonroe · 05/10/2023 16:43

22.5° downstairs and 24° upstairs. Nowhere near putting heating on yet. SW.

TodaysTheShay · 05/10/2023 16:44

18.3 inside here, I've just given in and gone in search of socks and a cardi. Keeping the heating off as long as possible.

vodkaredbullgirl · 05/10/2023 16:47

SW here 20.5 inside, heating not going on till end of October. It's supposed to be 25 degrees the weekend, not ready for the cold yet.

JaninaDuszejko · 05/10/2023 16:49

I do wonder how good the thermostats are because some of these supposed temperatures would feel very cold in our house. We've already had some days when it has felt colder inside than outside.

I'm mainly struggling because on a dry day the washing goes out and quickly dries in the autumn breeze but if it's wet outside and the washing goes on the airer in the utility room it just doesn't dry at the moment, it does when it's warmer in the summer and it does when the heating is on in the winter but at the moment it just stays there damp for ages. Bloody nightmare.
