I actually forgot to have lunch today… worried?

It completely escaped my mind, which means today I’ve had

2 weetabix with milk
Yoghurt, apple and walnuts as a snack

Went out for dinner and had a large pizza and dough balls.

That’s not enough food for an adult for a day, is it? Surely it can’t be healthy? I can’t believe I just forgot to have lunch. I was just working away and it never even entered my head. Usually I have 3 big meals a day and snacks on top.

I wouldn't think that will do you any harm at all just as a one off.

I often don't eat lunch if I am going out to dinner.

Duolily · 04/10/2023 23:02

I don’t this is unusual? I’ve forgotten lunch before, and I’m sure with the pizza you’ve eaten your calories for the day easily anyway . Not sure I understand!

Hmmmbetterchangethis · 04/10/2023 23:02

Ridiculous! I only eat when I’m hungry. That might be 3 meals or 1 meal per day.
there’s no need to eat just because it’s a certain ‘time’.

MinnieMouse0 · 04/10/2023 23:02

A large pizza and dough balls probably has your whole days worth of recommended calories tbh.

Even if not, it’s one day, just eat a bit more another day?

MidnightOnceMore · 04/10/2023 23:03

I think you'll survive if you had a large pizza and dough balls for tea Grin

coffeeoffee · 04/10/2023 23:03

Thank you. It’s not one of those competitive posts I promise, I don’t like those! It’s more, I have seen people under-eat and the terrible consequences that can have so I was a bit worried of doing the same. Sorry if I phrased it a bit weirdly, I was multi tasking when I posted.

Worried about what?

Oftenaddled · 04/10/2023 23:03

I forget / don't have time most weekdays.

I miss breakfast because late some days.

Fortunately occasional fasting is good for you. Just take today as no harm done - don't worry.

I love how differently people's minds work

MrsDanversChickenSandwich · 04/10/2023 23:04

It might be an idea to bring a BLT and a mug of double cream to bed with you. Could be perilous going to sleep with just a pizza and some dough balls in your tum. Sad

Torganer · 04/10/2023 23:04

It’s literally one day. You’re hardly going to waste away, unless you have some sort of medical reason that requires 3 meals a day.

Or are you hoping for a classic ‘ooh I couldn’t even eat a dough ball for dinner after all those walnuts’, or, ‘if you’re worried about being healthy why are you eating pizza, milk, wheatabix, youghurt etc.)

There you go, all bases covered!!

IDontLoveTheWayYouLie · 04/10/2023 23:04

I've ate a pack of biscuits today so well done to you.

0ElectronBlue0 · 04/10/2023 23:05

Bloody hell, wish I would forget to eat sometimes 🐷

EveSix · 04/10/2023 23:05

Depends on how much energy you used during the day, surely?
On my intermittent fasting days, I'm still good on 6-800 calories, and I don't really think about food during the day.
Absolutely nothing is going to happen to you.

Oftenaddled · 04/10/2023 23:05

I do sometimes get dehydrated so would be better off being more attentive.

But if this is so unusual for you, you'll notice if you start doing it more often and can set an alarm or something? You have control here, and one day absolutely won't hurt.

AutumnCrow · 04/10/2023 23:05

You think over the course of a day you might have developed undernourishment and an eating disorder?

VeridicalVagabond · 04/10/2023 23:06

I would think a large pizza and dough balls, speaking only in calories, is more than enough for a whole day without the other food to be honest. Depending on where you get it and what you had on it they can be 1800+ cals on their own.

Regardless, it's one day. You're not going to starve to death. I often forget lunch if I've had a big breakfast and a busy day, I have yet to die from it.

Thewizardbinbag · 04/10/2023 23:06

What do you think is going to happen? Honestly, grow up.

StorminanDcup · 04/10/2023 23:07

Eh? A large pizza and dough balls from a restaurant is well over a typical adult woman’s calorie allowance.

Id quite often purposely not eat lunch to allow for extra cals if I was going out for dinner so I didn’t go drastically over my daily.

Eating probably 3.5k cals in a day is not under eating!

I reckon you would be nudging a healthy calorie intake for a women, 2000 calories, or there about.

That would be far too much food for me in a day.

CancertheCrab · 04/10/2023 23:08

you have eaten plenty

and it wouldn't matter if you hadn't

and it is completely normal to forget meals occasionally, or not have time for them-people have busy lives

Torganer · 04/10/2023 23:08

I agree with the previous poster. Grab something from your fridge covering all major food groups before you go to bed. Babybel, 6 oysters, egg fried rice, T-bone steak, handful of tender stem broccoli, and half a bottle of Chablis. Finish with a shot of skimmed milk.

coffeeoffee · 04/10/2023 23:08

Thanks, I have already explained the reasons for posting further above so thank you to everyone who has been constructive & kind! Hormonal atm and tired which makes me a bit more prone to overthinking small and silly things.

FFS I'm 54 and have eaten 2 meals a day since I was about 11 years old.

Consequences from missing one meal for one day? Give over and stop attention seeking.
