I actually forgot to have lunch today… worried?

It completely escaped my mind, which means today I’ve had

2 weetabix with milk
Yoghurt, apple and walnuts as a snack

Went out for dinner and had a large pizza and dough balls.

That’s not enough food for an adult for a day, is it? Surely it can’t be healthy? I can’t believe I just forgot to have lunch. I was just working away and it never even entered my head. Usually I have 3 big meals a day and snacks on top.

@coffeeoffee

I don't eat breakfast and rarely manage lunch or I may swig a couple iced coffees and a mini baby bel during the day.

Yea is quite often salad and a toasted bagel or a pepperami and a packet of crisps depending on how manic my days been or how utterly shite I feel to be honest.

Thewizardbinbag · 04/10/2023 23:38

Worrying about what though? What did you think was going to happen to you?

What you ate today probably takes you over the recommended daily calories; you’ve had enough fuel for your body. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t eat it in 3 separate meals. And even if you didn’t have enough calories, it’s one day, your body just uses stored energy. That’s all. It isn’t bad for you, it isn’t going to hurt you, it won’t cause you any long term eating problems. Seriously, you’re an adult, how can you not understand this. What were you actually worried about?

sunshineandshowers40 · 04/10/2023 23:38

Most days I only eat two meals a day, you will be fine!

LusaBatoosa · 04/10/2023 23:41

coffeeoffee · 04/10/2023 23:33

I wasn’t attention seeking but can see why it would seem that way. Was just worrying about it, but now I see it’s trivial

What exactly were you worried *about^, though? I think that’s what people aren’t getting. What was the specific worry?

McIntire · 04/10/2023 23:47

It’s not trivial if it’s worrying you @coffeeoffee

I’m interested to know what terrible consequences you’ve seen through under eating though?

Please be reassured that one day won’t make any difference and what you’ve eaten is sufficient.

WhateverMate · 04/10/2023 23:48

Trying to get an answer about the OP's 'reasoning' is like pulling teeth.

augustusglupe · 05/10/2023 00:13

I'm 59 and I don't think I've eaten 3 proper meals a day since I was in school.
I eat when I'm hungry. Little and often, generally healthy food.
I certainly couldn't eat a massive pizza and a load of dough balls.
Don't think you need worry about wasting away after sitting down to that little lot OP 😉

uncomfortablydumb53 · 05/10/2023 00:16

Why are you worried?
If you were hungry, you would've eaten and I'm sure you made up for it with the pizza and dough balls!!
I follow my appetite, not the clock

DrFoxtrot · 05/10/2023 00:52

I'm envious of your structured life that enables you to be able to eat three meals a day every day! I've always had jobs that have been too busy to take a break for food, including working in hospitality and healthcare.
Honestly, I'm flabbergasted 😂. There are many, many people who have no time to fit lunch in and realise at 5pm they've not eaten that day.

WongWifi · 05/10/2023 00:58

Under-eat for one day? 🤦‍♀️

Sweetheart, get a life.

CityCommuter · 05/10/2023 01:05

@coffeeoffee out of interest are you under weight right now being as you're so worried about this?

MaydinEssex · 05/10/2023 01:18

It's a lot more than I eat a day!

BabyFireflyx · 05/10/2023 01:19

Jesus, I eat one small meal a day in the evening. Not bragging in any way. The medication I’m on leaves me with no appetite. But then again I've been like this for 15 years at least, I'm very rarely hungry. Slim but not underweight for my 5ft nothing size.
Certainly don’t worry you've missed a meal for one day. We're all different but that's not going to harm you.

Theoldwoman · 05/10/2023 15:24

I very rarely eat lunch. You will be fine.

CrazyHamsterLady · 05/10/2023 15:25

I quite often don’t have lunch when I’m working. I’m too lazy to make it!

mummy21blueeyed · 05/10/2023 18:41

@Thewizardbinbag i love your responses because it’s true. Hit the nail on the head.

just because you missed one meal
doesn't mean your going to shrivel up and disappear. It is the reason easily impressionable people have issues reading pointless problems like this.

women don’t need this shit especially if they actually have a bad relationship
with food

i don’t know what you thought would happen but it seems like you’ve got some form
of issues OP.

Bloomingmagnolia · 05/10/2023 19:07

Do you usually get worked up about minor things? I survive in two meals a day. My body is perfectly healthy and strong.

WhateverMate · 05/10/2023 19:10

Just checking to make sure the OP's ok, and not slipped down a storm drain?

coffeeoffee · 05/10/2023 19:18

As I said earlier up, twice, I recognise it was a really silly thread and trivial thing to be concerned about, I was worrying over nothing as I have got a lot on.

I can’t believe how many people pile on with sarcastic and unkind messages and even name calling. You’re more worked up about this than I was, which is really rather funny… 😂 hope being unkind online to others really cheers you up and gives you the boost you needed

Thank you to all who took the time to write a comment that wasn’t judgemental x

Yes and have acknowledged now three times that it was silly and pointless. There have been some vile comments on here. I don’t know why people are at ease with being so rude tbh.

Exactly this! I'm in one of those jobs and eg today I started at 4am. I didn't have time to get a drink, let alone eat until midday. And no, I don't eat breakfast at 3am either. Its just the way it is in some jobs. But I'm not worried in the same way you are. Is there a reason behind it?
