Why has DS started making jelly regularly?

He's 22, I suppose if he wants jelly he can have it but why is there always a bowl of jelly in my fridge all of a sudden?

Vodka must be the obvious answer, but he barely drinks and as far as I can tell the jelly isn't alcoholic.

He says he just remembered he likes jelly 😆 Which is plausible but I feel like I'm missing something. Generally heating a pizza is the extent of his catering inclination.

OP, have you seen the film, ‘American Pie’?

He wants jelly

Marblessolveeverything · 04/10/2023 17:55

Oh god, is it to do with sex? There is a new girlfriend in the scene...

Is this your son?

I imagine like most people he's just got a craze for a particular food. I've had them for things like tinned custard before now.

And it's something he can make himself. Jelly's pretty easy.

GunboatDiplomacy · 04/10/2023 17:59

It's probably a temporary craving. My 19 year old DS has suddenly decided he loves bran flakes and is currently getting through half a box of a day. Be grateful he's not female, you'd be worried he was secretly pregnant.

trainplane · 04/10/2023 18:00

It’s getting as adult revival as a low cal treat often mixed with Greek yoghurt for protein . Chivers etc sell ‘10 cal” pots.

@Softnatural oh gosh!!! sooo very sorry but.....???? 🙈

MYYY AAARRRMMM!

Thank you for this 😁😁😁

OP I'd think it's just because he likes jelly. My adult child asked me to buy candy mice the other day (and then was disappointed when they didn't taste the same as he remembered)

Haha

He might be low carbing though? Sugar free jelly and cream being about the only pudding you can eat.

icelollycraving · 04/10/2023 18:41

Sexual business. Sorry.

Softnatural · 04/10/2023 18:42

I'd be very surprised if it's weight loss related, unless it's something gf is wanting. He's 6ft3 with slim hips, washboard stomach and broad shoulders, despite apparently doing very little exercise 😆

You lot are so suspicious. I'd assume he just fancies eating jelly. Does he have a particular favourite flavour? (Lime jelly is the food of the Gods).

TheGoddessFreyja · 04/10/2023 18:47

My Fiancé had a hyperfixation with Angel Delight a year or so ago 🤣 Just said it reminded him of his childhood and he forgot how nice it was

Saschka · 04/10/2023 18:50

DH was into Angel Delight at that age and it was definitely nothing to do with sex (unless he was up to stuff without me, but he would eat it after dinner so I doubt he was sticking his dick in it then putting it back in the fridge).

Jelly is nice. Maybe he had forgotten how nice it tasted

Grazyna80 · 04/10/2023 18:55

Ask him ?

dayofcheese · 04/10/2023 18:55

Tik tok or drugs

AdaColeman · 04/10/2023 18:56

He needs "JELLY with Bompas and Parr"!

If there's no icrecream too, I suspect he's just rebelling against adult rules. It's all part of growing up. He may be 22 but tell him he can always talk to you about anything that's making him feel wobbly.

I bought some last year. It was so disappointing!

RogersOrganismicProcess · 04/10/2023 19:01

Isn’t jelly good for hair and nails? Maybe he is eating it to improve his lovely locks.
