I really hope not. The barrel has been truly scraped now. With him we will reach the earth's core!

minou123 · 03/10/2023 18:56

Doubt it.

He has a lot of work to do if he wants to be Prime Minister.

First you need to be elected as the Leader of a Political Party.
Then your Political Party needs to win the most seats at a General Election.

Nigel Farage can't even win an election to be an MP. in the House of Commons. He's tried 7 times.

In the very unlikely event he decided to join the Tory or Labour Party, there would have to be some sort of mass lobotomy for them to choose him as Party Leader.

Whilst I never say "never" - I mean look at Trump - the chances of him becoming PM are very slim.

CurlewKate · 03/10/2023 18:57

He'll join the Conservative Party and be selected for a the next available safe by election.

Okey dokey

Roselilly36 · 03/10/2023 19:03

I would be utterly amazed if he joins the tories. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he revives his political career.

ButDaddyILoveHim · 03/10/2023 19:03

DH has just said the same.

It's an utterly appalling idea, but the Tory Party have collectively lost the plot and are looking increasingly desperate, so it's not impossible.

The country is beyond fucked if so, though.

SwedishEdith · 03/10/2023 19:06

Well, he's had 6 (?) goes and is yet to be elected as an MP.

LadyMooMoo · 03/10/2023 19:09

He’s ripped this country apart. David Cameron 💩 himself when the Brexit Party gained popularity. Offered the country a referendum that he assumed wouldn’t be lost to keep the right wing Tories in his party happy.

Referendum lost and the rest is history. UK gone to 💩 and one ineffectual Tory leader after another playing politics with real people’s lives. It’s heartbreaking how much pain we have inflicted upon ourselves. UK will take years to recover (Financially).

im so worried for my children’s futures. It’s an absolute travesty.

nigel should F off. And Liz truss who is so conceited she just can’t accept that she caused this much pain. How can she brazenly show up at these events with no shame. If I had been sacked from my job I would slink off now. Not the bold Liz!

<rant over>

@SwedishEdith "Well, he's had 6 (?) goes and is yet to be elected as an MP."
I think it might be 7? But none as a Tory...

I'm not as convinced as you OP, but I wouldn't be surprised by it.

CameronCook · 03/10/2023 19:27

Someone shared a video of him on instagram dancing at the Tory party conference last night with Priti Patel, so I would say he is trying to wheedle his way in as a Tory MP

Nitesaredrawinin · 03/10/2023 19:32

Ahhh🤔Farage the ole goat

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 03/10/2023 19:38

CurlewKate · 03/10/2023 18:57

Oh my god, our seat is an extremely safe seat and the MP who has been in situ for 41 years has said he will be retiring before the next general election…..
(starts scanning Rightmove…)

WellThisIsFun1 · 03/10/2023 19:41

Nothing would surprise me in this shithole world we live in.

Disappoint me massively, yes. Surprise me? Sadly not.

newnamethanks · 03/10/2023 19:43

Watching C4 News. You not wrong OP. Horrendous.

RoseandVioletCreams · 03/10/2023 19:48

@tinytemper66 🤣

In UK maybe but us has already reached the earth's core.

topnoddy · 03/10/2023 19:54

Give him his due he's a big enough wanker to get the job !

TomPinch · 03/10/2023 21:41

The Tories have already had their lobotomy. They elected Johnson as leader and he lobotomised the party further in 2019. They will now choose any walking disaster area that will deliver an election win. They really do care that little and they really are that stupid. Never mind political views: just look at the low quality of some cabinet ministers like Braverman.

The first step would be for Farage to rejoin the Tories and get nominated for a safe seat. Just like Johnson. The rest is easy.

Pottomous2 · 03/10/2023 21:44

Conservatives are quite desperate! Lol!

StowOnTheWold · 03/10/2023 22:41

Weasel in a suit

Kendodd · 03/10/2023 22:59

Years and Years is looking increasingly like a documentary rather than fiction.

spanishviola · 03/10/2023 23:00

I wish the BBC would stop giving him so much airtime.

topnoddy · 04/10/2023 08:00

spanishviola · 03/10/2023 23:00

I wish the BBC would stop giving him so much airtime.

I've no idea what their obsession is with the irrelevant snide pillock , must be taking a back hander somewhere along the line .

giddymonday · 04/10/2023 08:03

I doubt it but suspect after a few years of Keir Starmer PM, people would vote in a trained dog as replacement...

Luckydip1 · 04/10/2023 08:03

Half of the conservatives would want him, the other half wouldn't.
