If you are slim are you regularly hungry

Prompted by a thread about weight training and weight loss. A poster stated that they are always hungry on the days they train. They said they put up with this to stay slim.
So if you are slim do you experience and ignore hunger on a regular basis?

@7worfs I’d rather do a brunch plus dinner but doesn’t work around my job. I often eat a later brunch when I’m not at work.

On days I commute or weekends out with the children I compromise too. 😤

But something about two big meals a day works really well.

I have always been slim
and I am permanently hungry. I wasn’t even aware of it until someone pointed out, you’re always hungry.

My BMI is a bit over 18.5. I tend to snack all day - I don't like big meals, so I probably eat six or seven times in an average day. I roughly know what I'm going to eat in the week, so I just kind of fit it according to when I'm hungry - very easy working from home. Then in the office I just take food with me.

To be honest I don't find food all that interesting so I am extremely repetitive.

I'm frequently "mouth hungry" where I feel an urge to eat something particular, usually something unhealthy. I'm usually only "stomach hungry" at mealtimes. It's easy for me to distinguish between the two by thinking whether I'd really like a banana, or a bowl of vegetable soup, or some plain nuts (for example) or if all I want is crisps, chips, salted nuts, Haribos, biscuits.

Sometimes I get what I assume is low blood sugar and would kill to get my hands on any ready source of energy, be it raisins or a bowl of shredded wheat. I indulge that one when it happens because it feels like a message from my body that it needs something.

I tend to leave it too late and end up ravenous but it’s not on purpose, I’m getting better that when I’m starting to feel hungry I go make a meal etc. i never diet though as it’s not for me, I just eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full

Some people are just hungier than others though. I'm hungry regardless of what I eat (healthy normally, probably more than an army of 5 should eat on a special occasion!) So the choice, for me, isn't hungry and slim or not hungry and not slim, either way I'm hungry but only one way I'm slim. I put on half a stone in 7 days on holiday (real weight gain) so yeah that's not sustainable!

If I'm hungry I will always have a snack - I'm 8 stone and sometimes get light headed if I don't eat when I'm hungry. The difference between me and the overweight people I know is that I can't eat a huge amount in one sitting. So I'll eat whenever I'm hungry but I don't ever eat huge portions that many people now seem to view as normal.
I do eat 3 meals a day though - I just snack inbetween if I'm peckish.

This is exactly how I am too. People comment either that I 'never stop eating', or that I 'eat like a bird', depending on what they see. I just eat what I feel I need to when I feel I need to..

I'm slim. I started exercising regularly about 3.5 years ago. I run and do pilates. I've always been the size and weight I am now but I'm just more toned and have muscle definition now. I have always been able to recognise when I'm hungry and when I'm full, which along with genetics is probably why I'm slim. If I go for a long run I do usually feel hungrier but not always much more. I usually plan a long run and so try to eat more carbs the day before but not always. I would say generally I eat the same whether I exercised or not. If I'm hungry I eat. I don't believe eating food will counteract the good work the exercise has done.
