I think I've just received 2 fake driving licences in the post.

I've just received a special delivery addressed to me and inside is a plain piece of A4 paper and 2 driving licences in a little polythene bag. They are in 2 different names with relatively local addresses.

I put the tracking number into royal mail and they appear to have been posted from Kilburn in Derbyshire - where i know nobody!!

However, neither of them have barcodes which I thought they should have - I don't drive so don't have a driving licence so not sure what they should look like. Also the hologram doesn't seem quite right. I think they're fake. They were both "issued" on the same date.

I'm half expecting someone to try picking them up at some point with some mumbo jumbo about their registered letter going to wrong address.

Sounds like you are right. If someone knocks at the door deny receiving anything in the post. Maybe you could drop into police if you have station in your town

I'd phone DVLA and speak to them - they were really helpful when I spoke to them.

If you can actually speak to someone at dvla that would be your best bet.
someone needs to be aware. Whether or not they will do anything is another matter

Post them to DVLA with a short note. I recently renewed my licence and I have to say they’ve really gone to town on the holograms. There is a steering wheel, normal wheel, a car driving on a road, a line of chevrons at the bottom and a tiny picture of me with expiry date underneath my picture.

I think it looks a bit fake as well, I think my old licence had 1/2 holograms. Now it’s nearly the whole front of the card.

i would not bother myself and just put them in bin. phoning dvla is a nightmare

Easiest thing to do is probably put them in the post (or look on website for an email address and send photos, but keep them in case they ask to see them).

Fake driving licence are obviously dodgy and possibly the tip of a very big iceberg, they haven't come from the DVLA as they're entirely in Swansea as far as I know.

I reckon I’d pop them and the envelope in to the closest police station. It’s got to be crime related.

If they’re fakes why would they have them posted to your actual address?! Very odd.

Presumably they have the picture of two people on? Have you tried checking the names in Facebook etc to see if these people come up?

Tell the police. Fake licences are a crime.

Tell the DVLA so they can investigate too.

Do NOT hand them over to anybody who comes knocking with a sob story.

Sell them on the black market!

No clearly not the roads don't need unlicenced drivers clearly.

Hand them into the local cop shop with the information you have found out.

Do you have teenagers? They all have fake id driving licences round here before they are 18, especially the ones that are young for their year in sixth form and so cant drink or get into clubs, apparently they order them off snapchat.

sorry just seen you know the names and adresses, is it the same address? they will be for the teens there I'm sure. Is there a way they would have been delivered to you by mistake like you're 25 such and such road and the address on them is 25 such and suck lane or something.

Not sure what I would do tbh - maybe deliver them to that address? I mean they shouldnt really have them of course but I had fake id as a teen ...

Good grief, what a stupid thing to say. Nobody should have a fake driving licence and if she hands it over she is probably committing a crime herself.

If someone comes knocking for them then it is clear they have used your address to disguise whatever it is they are up to. Just say you have posted them back to the DVLA. If they ask why you didn’t post them to the address on the licence say oh, you didn’t notice an address on there.

Just forward everything, including the envelope they came in, to the DVSA.

I wouldn't enable this. Yes, I know teenagers use fake ID but ordering and sending to some random address is another level I suggest is beyond that.

Have you ordered new driving licences ? Did you use the official DVLA website or one of the first ones that comes up on Google ?

If anyone knows on the door, just say you've posted them back so they can ensure their records are adjusted accordingly and they're using the right postal address in the future.

I agree with others who say to send them back to the DVLA saying they appear to have been posted to you in error.

If anyone comes knocking and asking for them, you know nothing.
