Christmas slots

Despite going online at six this morning, I’ve missed the Ocado delivery slots, I’m obviously a rank amateur!
Anyway does anyone know whether or not some of them magically become free at any point or is there no point in me checking in the hope that I may somehow get lucky?

I've just checked on my Ocado account and there are plenty of slots available for me to book, I do have a Smart Pass though. I'm just not sure if it's worth the 9.99 fee when I can get an Asda delivery slot for free (I've also got a delivery saver pass with them)

I’ve got a saver pass and managed to get one an hour ago. Plenty of decent times available.

You get one free Christmas slot with a Smart Pass - you should have an email about it?

OP, I booked mine this morning and they had lots available. Must be area specific but definitely check back again to see if more appear.

I hope I do end up getting one, I’m hosting this year, and I’m a wheelchair user so obviously delivery is definitely easier!

Did you get an email saying when slots were opening? It’s different for different areas. I’d be really surprised if they were all gone already.

Did Ocado email you @Gilead ? The email I had earlier in the week said they were releasing slots in batches and said when mine was available to book and also gave me a code to get the delivery for free subject to spending the minimum charge.

I love doing the big Christmas shop in person. There's something quite special about it. I am the weirdo who does their shopping at 11:30pm or 6am though, so it's always quiet.

I just checked and my email came the evening before at around 7.30pm saying I could book the next day. I was up late and did my order just after midnight, so the slots were available from midnight. The email also said I had early access due to having a smart pass and that they were staggering the release of the Christmas slots.

I logged on at 8am and there were loads of options, I guess areas are different.
I forgot last year and they sold out but they definitely added more as the weeks went on and I got one I was happy with.

I’ve just looked and there’s still plenty of slots from 20th -22nd December in my area. Hopefully yours haven’t been released yet.

I've managed to book a Christmas eve slot this evening, there was plenty of choice. I got the email yesterday telling me the slots would be available today.

Had an email about it last week and then another yesterday telling me today was the day they would become available. Filled my basket last night, Chris Evans reminded me at 6:35am, tried on 1 iPad, no Christmas slot button, but it was on the other iPad? But nothing available for the 23rd or 24th! Pretty disappointing.

Situations like this make me very sad for people like you, who really benefit from online shopping. So many people are just too lazy or 'too busy' to get their arses to the supermarket, which leave the disabled, elderly, those without proper transport etc struggling.

I cancelled my Ocado pass earlier this year, I reasoned I was only actually keeping it for the convenience of the Christmas slot.
so imagine my surprise when Waitrose messaged me on Monday morning and offered me a Christmas slot on Christmas Eve. I feel a bit vindicated now 😂
