In search of an electric car...

Does anyone have an electric car that can fit 2 tall people in at once that isn't a tesla?
I have been looking for a while but all the ones I've tried have head room in the front but are limited in the back and I have a very tall DS and DH to fit in the car.
we have tried the Peugeot E-2008, Kia e-Niro, Skoda Enyaq, Hyundai ioniq and Kona, MG Zs. And possibly some more that I've forgotten!

How tall? My tall dd is impressed with how much leg space our little eup has. She reckons it's better than the much larger Zafira.

6'4 (and still growing!) and 6'2. Plenty are fine for one tall person in the front but it's when they have to sit in the back that we have issues. No one seems to have thought that a woman might be driving 2 big men around! 😆

We have a polestar 2, love it! Husband is just over 6 foot and finds it roomy

Polestar 2. Son is 6ft. Very sturdy feeling car. Room for a 6 footer.

What's the budget? We find a Taycan is actually surprisingly roomy!

However I do think they don't really ever design it for a tall person in the back properly 😂

VW Buzz (although good luck with the waiting list).

VW ID.5 - fits two 6’3 teens in the back with plenty of room, even though it doesn’t look like it. We didn’t believe it until we all sat in it.

Is there room in the back for 6 foot +?

Why not a Tesla?

Why not a Tesla?

Because then she would have to be a Tesla driver 😅

That was my reasoning anyway. I’d actually rather pay more to not have to have one. (Yes, I know that’s shallow)

Why not a Tesla?

DH has one, I loathe it

My hubby has a Nissan Leaf and he's 6"3

Neighneigh · 22/09/2023 22:20

We have a polestar 2 and I wouldn't say it's good in the back. Dh is 6ft and when he drives there's barely any room behind him. Our eldest is taller than me and sits in the front while I slum it in the back with the younger one...

The cockpit of the polestar feels very cramped to me, and I hate the lack of visibility when reversing (and camera wet/rainy/muddy). But it does go like stink and the enhanced audio extra option is good.

Does he sit in the back though? It's having enough room in front and back that's the challenge!

We test drove a new electric smart car the other day...that was really fab and plenty of room in the back.

We also looked at a brand new electric Kia too...it's a 5/7 seater and the seats in the back felt like a limo!! It is £80 K though! 😳

Chimchar · 22/09/2023 22:33

These are the cars.

I have a BMW i4. DSonIL is 6'4" and comfortable in the back.

Confusedddddddd · 22/09/2023 22:38

We have the ioniq5. Hubby is 6'5 plenty of room front and back.

user134276 · 22/09/2023 22:39

Audi ETron is nice and roomy

PenguinLove1 · 22/09/2023 22:46

Mercedes EQB has good head room in the back

Crabacus · 22/09/2023 22:56

weirdly we've tried an ioniq 5 and it was nowhere near enough leg room for DS. He must have very long legs! And that was when he was a few inches shorter too, I'm dreading him getting any taller. Then my only option is a convertible!

Thabks for all the suggestions, I've got a few more to look at so that's really helpful

OP posts:
Crabacus · 22/09/2023 22:58

I also forgot to mention that we are a family of 5, so it does need to be as large a car as possible because 3 adult size teens in the back is a real squeeze in most!

We have a Mercedes eqb and it's very roomy, 7 seater too.

Legoroses · 22/09/2023 23:02

You can fit 5 in a Leaf but I've only put a 5'10 DH in the back!

feliciabirthgiver · 22/09/2023 23:07

I have a BMW i4 now but I also loved my Polestar (definitely more room in the back).
