Who still rocks the bush?

Read a thread on waxing and made me wonder who here still has a full bush?

I trim if it gets too long but usually that’s it. I rock it full 70’s style and I’m only 34. Dh loves it Grin

I have a full bush. I’d like to trim to be honest for bikinis and such but I don’t half get a rash from shaving or waxing. So I wear shorts instead.

Mine's seasonal.

Lol 🤣 ditto, I was just thinking that as I read but not thought about it in those terms . . . seasonal . . . cracking!

Love the “Similar threads”!

I got one about a cowboy builder?! Not sure about the link there!

Oh @Soubriquet , thanks 😊, gets my vote for best MN thread ever, you blummin legend!

I have a full bush.

I occasionally trim the length, about twice a year.

It was a revelation when I realised instead of worrying about my bikini line for swimming I could just buy much bigger bikini bottoms!

Me too! I bought some high waisted board short type things that cover my bikini line and I will never look back! They even have a pocket!

littleripper · 20/09/2023 15:58

There is a lot of unkind judgement on these threads and they occur frequently.
I never removed any body hair at all. Then I had 2 kids and a traumatic birth experience. I didn't experience orgasm for 4 years. A close friend recommended waxing my vulva and she was right - I was back to enjoying sex which of course improved every aspect of DH and my marriage.
DH would prefer me to have pubic hair so I now keep it at the front and have the rest removed. He is not a pervert, I do not want to look like a child. It's all so nasty and bullying.
Most women I know remove their body hair for this reason, because it aids their sexual response. I don't think many men care.

itsmyp4rty · 20/09/2023 15:59

I could not be arsed with getting rid of the hair, the odd trim is enough for me. Swim shorts are the answer to not having to shave a bikini line which I hate doing. It's sad that porn has dictated that women should be hairless, when I was at school no one shaved it all off, I know that for sure thanks to communal showers (ick) I bet most older teen girls do now though and that the boys expect it.

wootaloo · 20/09/2023 15:59

I shave once a month for my period because I use pads or period underwear, and I hate that it gets matted with blood inbetween daily showers, so for a week I have quite a good bush

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 20/09/2023 16:00

I don't wax. I trim.

Ladybrrrd · 20/09/2023 16:02

I won't say getting rid of it all looks like a child as it's an adult body. We need to stop saying that hair is unhygienic though, because it isn't. I'm full on 70s and I wash every day. I do not smell and I'm not unhygienic!! Can we please stop with this stupid word when discussing it!

Mushroo · 20/09/2023 16:04

For those that don’t remove anything - how hairy are you?

If my bits looked like those in a text book with just some hair on the mons pubis I’d leave it too.

What I actually have is a full chewbacca with hair EVERYWHERE. No one would be going down on that, it’d be like licking a wiry poodle.

SunnySideDownUp · 20/09/2023 16:05

Full on bush here, and I like it that way. I tried waxing when younger, and it felt and looked really strange to me.

I'd shave the edges more regularly but I get terrible itching from the regrowth.

FirstTimeNameChanger · 20/09/2023 16:06

@littleripper (apt name!)

I haven't seen any bullying. Glad you found something that works for you. We are all victims of society's expectations on us as women, to some extent. I'm no different. I don't remove my pubic hair, but I do other things society expects women to do simply because I'm conditioned to do so. It's not bullying to say that some societal expectations don't work for me

I'm confused by this as hair doesn't grow on your clit, I've never heard of anyone removing their pubes for that reason before - wouldn't just trimming it be enough? I'm also amazed that you talked to enough people about their pubes to know that most of them remove it because it aids their sexual response!

BiliousOhGod · 20/09/2023 16:14

I shave my undercarriage for my period, as I use period pants and clean-up is easier. Shave the edges for holidays, but have a new swimsuit with a lot of coverage, so may not bother again.... the rest is lightly trimmed to stop spider legs escaping.

It definitely makes a difference for me. Not having hair makes you more sensitive. You can feel everything better.

I do whatever I fancy. H prefers it all off but if he wants sex he takes it as it is. I can go full bush or shave, wax and trim. Rock different styles depending on my mood. Have even coloured it a couple times because why not?

Although, was booked in for a Hollywood in June, but baby came early and I gave birth and had to the whole fucking 8 wks pp full Bush. That was less than ideal.

Willowview · 20/09/2023 16:17

"Can we please stop with this stupid word when discussing it!"

Which word?

Meanwhile, still pmsl, "licking a wiry poodle" 🤣🤣🤣

Theroom · 20/09/2023 16:20

Full bush here. Occasionally shave my bikini line if I'm going swimming. Would not be husband's choice but I can't abide the bare look - the pain of doing it, the ingrown hairs, the camel toe... Urghh. Definitely not for me.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 20/09/2023 16:21

Your pubic area is less hygienic if you shave, not more…

Do you mean that every woman who shaves has a less hygienic pubic area than all women who don't shave? Surely it's a pointless generalisation, since presumably loads of women shave and never have any hygiene problems as a result. I expect if it did cause hygiene problems, they'd stop doing it.

Theroom · 20/09/2023 16:26

Very. The men I've met haven't been repelled.

I have wondered if the fact I have thick curly hair is the reason why waxing is excruciatingly painful! Does thin straight hair cause less pain?!

Champagneforeveryone · 20/09/2023 16:35

I zoom around with the trimmer to keep it short and tidy, with a quick trim round the edges before holiday. Wild horses would not drag me near a waxing session <shudder>

Legs shaved most of the year and underarms at all times though. DH is unconcerned but I've been conditioned by my youth!

KStockHERO · 20/09/2023 16:35

I've never heard of shaving your minge for your period.

Sometimes my pubes get matted if I'm particularly heavy. If this happens, I just give it all a quick wipe over with a damp flannel and job's a good 'un.

@Mushroo Absolutely creasing at your wiry poodle. Brilliant.

And yes to PPs talking about bigger swimming gear. I've got a Slazenger boyleg swimsuit and its brilliant - keeps my fat arse in check, contains my voluminous pubes, and looks much more serious and sporty than a regular costume. Win, Win, Win.

Peregrine93 · 20/09/2023 16:37

I used to shave it regularly but that was only becuase my ex liked it. Since being a single mum it has got a bit unruly lol

MrsMarzetti · 20/09/2023 16:38

Always have.

Willowview · 20/09/2023 16:39

TBH, David Attenborough could be hiding in mine, it's an unseen, unexploreble wildernesses down there!

I do, however, have an annual springtime harvest, whilst singing "We plough the fields and scatter"
