Who still rocks the bush?

Read a thread on waxing and made me wonder who here still has a full bush?

I trim if it gets too long but usually that’s it. I rock it full 70’s style and I’m only 34. Dh loves it Grin

I'm 61, never removed any hair except below knees and armpits. Haven't even done that for years.

I`ve never seen the point in being bald im an adult woman not a child.
I trim neat and tidy but not wax or shave bald if a man finds it disgusting or is put off with it i think hes watching too much porn ,
Why would you want to look like a child down there .
Everyone to their own but no thank you .

It's not just lack of hair though that makes an adult woman look like a child though is it? I've had 4 kids, I'm curvy with a few stretchmarks, a c section scar and 34G boobs. I don't look anything like a kid. I am not a very hairy person and I can't grow more than a bit of stubble down there.

Bubop · 20/09/2023 15:06

People should do whatever they want with their body hair but saying it’s unhygienic not to shave is ridiculous… do you not shower?

If you’re noticing bad odours from your pubic area despite bathing, you need to see a GP not a beauty therapist.

A trimmed short bush, but a bush nonetheless.

hairyunicorn · 20/09/2023 15:07

Been single for 3 years, not shaved once 😂

Vicliz24 · 20/09/2023 15:08

Absolutely a bush here , always have had . Just a bit of trimming for holidays.

Full bush over here. 37 years old.

Like others, I'm an adult woman and not ashamed of having pubes.

I find waxing painful. I find shaving makes me sore and irritating. Why would I do that for an area that no-one but DP and the dog see? Why I do it on areas that people do see is a whole other thread about pressure on women

I don't give a fuck what DP thinks because its my bush.
If he loved neatly trimmed, shaved or waxed bushes so much, I'd be encouraging him to go to town on his own fucking bush.

becarefulofyourheart · 20/09/2023 15:11

Maybe I’ve been lucky but I never met a man who didn’t appreciate a luxuriant 70’s floff. I checked out of the dating market around the time porn went fully mental and mine is now salt n pepper so I dunno if it’d be so appealing these days. I have too much else to do to shave my fanny (the chin takes up enough time, checking and plucking🤪)

😂😂Thanks for pointing that out - properly made me LOL

LubaLuca · 20/09/2023 15:12

Mine's seasonal.

Bluelightbaby · 20/09/2023 15:13

Nope, no bush here. I use laser hair removal so nothing there at all. I don’t do it for anyone other than myself

fruitnutz · 20/09/2023 15:14

Me and I'm young. I think it's fairly rare for young women. Growing up, boys made perfectly clear pubic hair disgusts them and girls removed it as soon as it started growing in. It was spoken about as if it were a deformity. Completely ott. I'd say most girls carried/carry deep shame about it. That isn't why I leave my hair alone. It's not a 'statement'. I just never felt pressured like they did.

astarsheis · 20/09/2023 15:16

All off here for a few years now. I'm 58 (not that it matters) I also like the fact that it gives me a better 'view' during sex.

minipie · 20/09/2023 15:20

Full bush here, occasionally pruned.

If I could shave/wax etc once a year say and it would stay smooth, I’d consider it, but no way am I putting up with stubble in that area or repeated pain. Sod that.

Reading this has made me more glad that I have a bush...DD is in puberty and has grown hair, but I am her only point of reference so I realise that at the moment, she must just think of it as normal. Obviously when she's older if she chooses to remove it that's up to her, but I'm glad that for now it's been seen as the norm.

isthismylifenow · 20/09/2023 15:26

I'm au natural now, gone are those days of thinking having body hair was something to have to be rid of.

Just want to mention male grooming too though. I am an early 50s woman and if I get that far with a man of a similar age (from 45+ from recent pursuits) and he removed all his pubic hair, it is a real turn off for me.

It's strange though: the boys/men never used to care about pubes when I was young and a bush was normal!
Their preferences seem to change with the current pubic fashion.

Kat19899 · 20/09/2023 15:28

It is not a case of who “still” rocks it. Body hair is back in fashion and trimming is the new waxing among young women (it’s the generation younger than me so have heard this on the grapevine 😂)

I have definitely noticed a difference in razor ads that now suggest it is a choice and you might want to create a shape or not shave your armpits. Compared to the ads I saw growing up which made it seem like every woman is a slave to their leg hair

lightinthebox · 20/09/2023 15:37

Full bush. Experimented with shaving and I honestly don’t know why anyone would bother on a regular basis. It’s there for a reason! Removal for hygiene reasons is odd, that’s cleanliness not that pubic hair is ‘dirty’. Marketing is to blame for people thinking pubic hair is smelly and unhygienic.

Graciebobcat · 20/09/2023 15:42

I just do a bit of a trim with a razor in the shower so that pubes don't escape from knicker legs or swimwear, at the same time when I do my underarms and legs. It has become more of a landing strip over the years but I've never had any professional hair removal or waxing. I don't get a shaving rash or any issues and the hairs don't even regrow very fast these days.

muddyford · 20/09/2023 15:47

I'm 61 and have only ever trimmed the edges. It's thicker and darker than on my head!

FirstTimeNameChanger · 20/09/2023 15:47

Me! That thread had me crossing my legs and holding my breath - ouch! Those poor woman paying to have their pubes ripped off 😫

It's just normal. My husband doesn't shave his either. Why would you?

CornedBeef451 · 20/09/2023 15:49

I have a full bush.

I occasionally trim the length, about twice a year.

It was a revelation when I realised instead of worrying about my bikini line for swimming I could just buy much bigger bikini bottoms!
