Holiday suggestions for the South Coast of England, please. Looking for a good seaside town that has nice restaurants or bars, please.

We went to Westward Ho! recently & it had a nice, small seafront area with a few places to eat & have a drink. We are looking for something similar. We've also been to Tenby, Southwold, Whitstable & Wells-next-the-sea in recent times. Can you suggest anywhere nice? We've looked at St Ives, but it looks too expensive & quite cramped! Would prefer South coast. Thanks.

Weymouth - sandy beach and some amazing restaurants too. Venture a couple of miles out and there's the Crab House Cafe (not a cafe it's a restaurant really) plus on Portland there's the Lobster Pot which is also cracking. Plus a few others too many to mention.

Dorset in general is fab - take a view of the episodes of 'Dorset Coast and Country' on My5 lots of ideas of places to go (the cafes at the swannery and the water gardens are fab)
