Going from cloud 9 to be on the floor.

Cloud 9.
Yesterday morning I was buying some new clothes for our upcoming holiday.
I even bought a short playsuit. Got some short shorts. I'm a size 18 with a bit of weight around my tummy. Face is podgy with the tablets I take after cancer. Came out of these shops thinking I look good for 63.

On the floor.
We went to a party last night was dancing and having a good time. I was sent some photos this morning and my goodness do I look awful. 6 weeks to get my confidence back in wearing my new clothes. (even had a cry)

Fortunately my DH is my biggest cheer leader and is telling me that an unaware photo is never the real thing.

You had a good time - that's what matters. Your DH is right that few people look great on random photos.

You have my sympathy. Photos, especially when you're unaware, can be very unflattering. I recently had a similar experience, having thought I'd come to terms with my perimenopausal body, the additional weight I'm carrying etc then someone posted pictures of me in rehearsal for a play I'm in, and it floored me. DH told me they're just at an awkward angle, compounded by my posture being bad in those particular pictures, so am trying to be more aware of my posture and not take it to heart too much.

Photos are not a good indicator of what you look like- people can be very attractive in real life and look terrible in photos, and vice versa.

Wear your new clothes and have a great holiday- you survived cancer, have a bloke who loves you and time and money for a holiday- you are winning at life, don’t let the circumference of your waist spoil that for you!
