What's your favourite time of day

I like 1am-2am, I specifically used to like going running at this time. Or walking home early morning, 5am, before most people are up and out. There's this nice hush over everything. Just a milk float (going back in time there) and the world starting to stir.

I like when the place is asleep, I used to love going into the City of London after a certain time or on a weekend when it seemed completely empty. It could feel like you were the only person there.

Right now, while everyone else is still in bed. Cup of tea to drink & window open so I can hear what's going on outside. I get up slightly earlier on a weekday too so I can sit here for a while before anyone comes down 😊

Anoushkaka · 17/09/2023 09:06

11am, I'm a SAHM so once I get the kids to school, clean the house and have dinner prepped I get back into bed for a couple of hours and either read or have a little nap.

Does your dp/dh/w know you do that?

What do they think about you doing that?

6-10 ish on a Sunday morning. Everyone else is still asleep. I’m up at my usual time so it’s coffee and back to bed to read, in silence. I also spend time if flight radar to see where the planes that go over our house are heading. I wonder who is onboard and why they are going. A flight to Warsaw has just gone over.

Ragwort · 17/09/2023 09:18

YapYap that sounds very judgemental... why shouldn't the poster have a nap in the middle of the day?

Your question was 'what is your favourite time of day?' not asking people how they 'justify' spending their time, the poster has clearly answered your question.

Anyway, I also love early mornings, yesterday I had to drop my DH off very early and I enjoyed walking by a river in a different town so where we live .. very quiet and peaceful, but sadly even too early for a coffee shop to be open!

It’s may be not meant but you haven’t come across well here. If Anoushkaka wants a nap she is free to do so. It should be of no concern to her partner in anyway and it shouldn’t be questioned.

CynicalUsee · 17/09/2023 09:24

Anytime I'm asleep

I agree and that nasty comment has put me off engaging with the question OP was asking.

In the week around 4pm, when I know I've only got an hour of work left.
On the weekend, I like dusk, especially in summer.

This was before babies, mind. My favourite time of day now is 5-6 when dad gets home, or 7 at bedtime, when I can put the fire in my brain out and stare at a wall for a while.

Puffypuffin · 17/09/2023 09:29

Um, does she need her husband's permission to do that? I'm not sure if you meant to sound so judgemental (although I suspect I already know the answer to that). You may like going for a run in the middle of the night, others have different ways of relaxing. You do you and all that ...

YapYap2023 · 17/09/2023 09:30

I was making conversation. Going back to bed most days is an odd thing to do, if no disabilities etc.

You may think it’s odd, but even if it is, wtf would it have to do with anyone’s husband/partner?
What a totally unrelated question!

The hour before the end if the day used to be the worst. Especially on a Friday.

Now I wfh I really don't mind the time and enjoy working so much more.

For you. Not for the poster in question. You're not sounding any less judgemental.

Perhaps you should have named your thread 'How do you justify spending your time any differently from the way I do'.

Do you have a partner/spouse? If so what do they fhink about you running in the middle of the night?

Me too, everyone else gets a lunch break to do as they please so why can't a SAHM, very judgemental yapyap

Running at 2am is far more odd. Does your partner know you do that? Aren't they worried for your safety?

Can you not hear the judgment in this comment when you read it back?

YapYap2023 · 17/09/2023 09:58

Running at 2am isn't odd at all. It's the perfect time for running. Unfortunately I can't do it now, I have to stick to daylight hours because we live near a national park and there can be wild boars out at night.

As weird as going running in the middle of the night.

Women generally have to take their breaks opportunistically, full in the knowledge they will be criticised whenever they dare to take time out.
