What's your favourite time of day

YapYap2023 · 17/09/2023 09:02

I like 1am-2am, I specifically used to like going running at this time. Or walking home early morning, 5am, before most people are up and out. There's this nice hush over everything. Just a milk float (going back in time there) and the world starting to stir.

I like when the place is asleep, I used to love going into the City of London after a certain time or on a weekend when it seemed completely empty. It could feel like you were the only person there.

Once all my night chores are complete; kitchen clean, washing machine loaded and timer on, robot going, meds done, pets fed, rubbish out, shower and skin care done.

im free to watch tv, listen to audio books, podcasts, scroll the net, plan my holiday. Go to bed.

its peaceful, calm and just an all round great time of the day.

I am judgemental, so what?

I judge people that go to the supermarket in their pyjamas, I judge people for loads of things.

So what?

It's not the judging that's the worse part, it's the asking if her DP/H knows and if he's ok with that!

Surely with this attitude your favourite time of day is when you greet your husband home from work dressed in heels with a G&T and his slippers and don't ask him any questions but allow him to relax and wait until he begins conversation.

Theoldwoman · 17/09/2023 13:48

YapYap2023 · 17/09/2023 09:10

Does your dp/dh/w know you do that?

What do they think about you doing that?

I do that too.

Why would they mind? That’s odd if they did.

HelpMeGetThrough · 17/09/2023 13:49

3am for me. My body always wakes me up at that time for painkillers. I make a fresh pot of coffee, get my painkillers and get back into bed, drink my coffee and either have a browse online or a doze and get more coffee. Perfect!!!

Lovely and quiet here then and can listen to the owls calling, as we have the bedroom window open.

NeverAloneNeverAgain · 17/09/2023 13:50

I love 5.30am. Youngest is just waking up and everyone else is still asleep. It's an hour where its just us 2 to cuddle and stroke his face and talk to him before all the humdrum of life happens

You’re on an open forum, asking people to engage with you, judging them for their replies, confirming you’re judging them for their replies, and asking what’s wrong with that.

Do you understand the rules of social engagement?

Perhaps you struggle with them. Maybe a sign that you consider running alone at 1am a perfectly normal thing to do, but having a nap/siesta only with your partner’s permission not normal, suggests that you struggle. Either way, it’s a shame as what could have been an enjoyable thread is now very sour indeed.

BlueBlubbaWhale · 17/09/2023 14:16

I was going to say bedtime but actually if I get a nap in the day that's even better Grin

Theoldwoman · 17/09/2023 15:32

YapYap2023 · 17/09/2023 09:30

I was making conversation. Going back to bed most days is an odd thing to do, if no disabilities etc.

Not in my world, it’s not. We come from a long line of daytime nappers.

fuckssaaaaake · 17/09/2023 16:18

Ah bless the OP think she got bored for a bit. Cute that you tried so hard to be an idiot and thought that would be fun. Hope you feel better for that. Stop replying to this thread guys, it wasn't started as the feel good topic it appears to be

Boyboyboy10 · 17/09/2023 16:23

Early morning when I'm up and everyone else is still asleep. The period when I'm in bed at night, alone, before my partner comes to bed. Sunday mornings when partner is with DC at football and its an early kick off - I have the bed to myself and can read/doze/scroll

BitOutOfPractice · 17/09/2023 16:28

I did actually laugh at the op, who goes running at 2am, thinking that a daytime nap is odd!

I like 7-8pm. Summer. Glass of wine on the balcony with DP watching the world and the river and the city go by beneath us. I love it.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/09/2023 16:33

Cowlover89 · 17/09/2023 13:24

I'm still in my jarmies are you going to judge me 😄

I only got showered and dressed at 2pm to go out for lunch. Ii spent the morning chatting to my mom on the phone, doing a puzzle and doing My bullet journal. ’m now in a different pub. Judge away @Anoushkaka i couldn’t give a shiny shit.

Costalife · 17/09/2023 16:34

This went well.

AtrociousCircumstance · 17/09/2023 16:35

@BitOutOfPractice The judgey OP is @YapYap2023 - not @Anoushkaka who likes a nice nap!

Puffypuffin · 17/09/2023 16:36

Pretty sure this thread didn't go the way the OP thought it would ... 🤣

BitOutOfPractice · 17/09/2023 16:51

Oh apologies @Anoushkaka you were the napper not the judger. I want your life by the way. Daytime naps rock. 1am runs, not so much!

thsnks for the heads up @AtrociousCircumstance It seems you can’t edit a quote post…

ValkyrieAssassin · 17/09/2023 16:55

Dawn. Every weekend (either Sat or Sun) since the start of summer I google what time dawn is- then wake the Dcs and go to the beach to watch it. I make a thermos of hot chocolate and bacon butties.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 17/09/2023 16:55
But from staying up, not getting up early.! I'm the owliest of night owls.
IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 17/09/2023 17:00

I do the late night running thing, but nearer 11pm than 2am.

PinkyFlamingo · 17/09/2023 17:04

In my opinion it's mad!

Perhaps you should have named your thread 'How do you justify spending your time any differently from the way I do'.

Vintagecreamandcottagepie · 17/09/2023 22:05

@ValkyrieAssassin

I am so not an early morning person and can't remember the last time I saw dawn. But- what you've described sounds unbelievably awesome and I was wondering I'd you could adopt me for a week?

Vintagecreamandcottagepie · 17/09/2023 22:07

To the op-

I love 8- 10am, which is when I wake up, ha e breakfast, am rested and feel fill of hope and energy for the day.

I'm not in a position to take a daytime nap at the moment, but when I could, I did! Daytime naps are the best!

Empty nester plans- napping 😂

GigiAnnna · 17/09/2023 22:16

About 1pm, house clean and tidy, dinner prepared, dog walked. I get into bed and use my vibrator. I deserve it. I'm a mum of 4, (2 autistic with high needs) and it's my only time to myself to do what I want. I don't care if anyone judges.
