Have you got a duvet on?

Being nosy! I've currently got an empty duvet cover and a thin blanket on and thinking it's time to go back to my duvet
I don't have summer/winter as it's an expensive wool one so it's just a winter tog one

I've got my summer duvet on just now but I'm thinking I might change to the winter one the next time I change the bed. It's getting fairly chilly at night now.

Spottywombat · 16/09/2023 22:24

Used my wool one all summer.

Got another plus a coverless one on the bed and have the hot water bottle sometimes and bed socks.

Our bedroom is reading as 29.4 at the moment so no duvet for us

Nope still only using my duvet cover and linen blanket the rare occasion there's a slight chill

A couple of weeks ago I used my duvet for one night but after that it got hit again

Wow! Where are you? I'm in the NW and it's 19c inside now

My winter duvet is only 4.5 tog but it'll be interesting to see if that changes now I'm on HRT

foxylab2023 · 16/09/2023 22:29

We're south east. However we are in a new build which is so insulated it's untrue so it holds an obscene amount of heat!

Did stay at 26 for the whole afternoon though

3luckystars · 16/09/2023 22:29

All year round on.

TakeMe2Insanity · 16/09/2023 22:30

I have a duvet on the bed, but both my legs are out and the windows are open. It’s not remotely autumnal here, we ate lunch outside and virtually every woman was wearing a summer dress.

YorkieTheRabbit · 16/09/2023 22:32

4.5 tog on. Will swap to the winter duvet when it gets cold, I love the heavy weight of it, I sleep better.

SweetBirdsong · 16/09/2023 22:32

I have the same 11.5 tog duvet on all year on my little cosy single bed in my bedroom. I don't really get cold much, and in the summer, I kick it off if I get warm overnight! I have the windows open all year round. (In the very cold weather, minus temps outside, I have them on vent, with a quarter inch gap.)

I have my own room, and DH sleeps across the landing. He is ALWAYS cold, and has an electric blanket on from September to April, and he has a 15 tog duvet all year round. AND a weighted blanket. He has the windows shut tight too. He also snores like a massive buffalo. Haven't been able to sleep with him for 15 or so years. Our sleeping preferences are WILDLY different.

waterlego · 16/09/2023 22:36

Like you we had an empty cover plus thin blanket on until about 2 days ago and have now put the summer duvet back on which I think is 4.5 tog. Will probs be into Oct before we swap it for the thicker duvet. Then if it gets really cold we can popper the two of them together.

Whataretheodds · 16/09/2023 22:36

Nope

ShadyPaws · 16/09/2023 22:44

I do tend to get colder (hashimotos)
It has to get to about 29c before I consider taking my socks off in bed Grin

TomatoSoupIsLikeVampiresBlood · 16/09/2023 22:49

Duvet, throw and -on my side only-a blanket.
TBF there has only been a handful of nights that I’ve pushed the duvet aside and just slept under the throw and blanket this year.

IHateLegDay · 16/09/2023 22:57

We always keep our duvet on. We have a summer one all year but in the winter months, we put a throw over the top of it.

SallyWD · 16/09/2023 23:02

We have a summer duvet all year round. It's warm enough for winter (although sometimes I'll have a hot water bottle). If it's a hot night DH will just have a sheet but I still like to snuggle up in a duvet.

UndercoverCop · 16/09/2023 23:03

Summer duvet and the fan on! It was 24/25 outside here today lovely and sunny.
Just checked and it's currently 25 in our bedroom and that's with the fan on and windows open.

RampantIvy · 16/09/2023 23:04

It's chilly here in South Yorkshire now. Our heating has come on the last two mornings. I was fund raising in town today and had a coat on.

Where is everyone where it is still warm?

Linen blanket? That's a new concept to me, would you recommend it?

YewandOak · 16/09/2023 23:07

I've had my wool duvet on all summer.

ShutTheDoorBabe · 16/09/2023 23:07

No we've still just got a thin quilt.
