Have you got a duvet on?

Being nosy! I've currently got an empty duvet cover and a thin blanket on and thinking it's time to go back to my duvet
I don't have summer/winter as it's an expensive wool one so it's just a winter tog one

We have the summer 4.5 tog duvet all year round, ( it's pretty warm as a goosedown) except for the truly freezing weeks of winter where we put on the autumn 10.5 tog duvet. I hate being too hot.

Have a 7.5 tog feather duvet on year round. The window is open in bedroom and cool air coming in. Fan running as well- it's lovely and chilly. I'm wearing my fleecy Winter dressing gown for the first time. When I go to bed later I can get snuggled down and not be sweltering!
The weather has been insane in England- in my bit of Yorkshire I was sweating last Saturday- Sunday was even more humid and horrible. We are back to dry, sunny and a bit cold in the morning and cold at night. Also my long hair is back to normal- it goes very bouffant in hot/humid weather! Looked like Crystal Tipps for a a week.

I've got the electric blanket on!

Thin supper duvet here and the windows cracked open.

RampantIvy · 16/09/2023 23:22

It most definitely has not been boiling in South Yorkshire where I live @ShutTheDoorBabe. It has been cold and grey all day. Yesterday was lovely, but it rained overnight and the temperature has dropped significantly.

QueenBitch666 · 16/09/2023 23:50

Winter duvet all year round. Plus 2 hot water bottles apart from maybe 2 weeks in the year when I'll just chuck the duvet off

FunnysInLaJardin · 16/09/2023 23:52

summer duvet and will add a blanket and socks when it gets cooler but still too warm for the winter one

PostBoxErgoProperBox · 16/09/2023 23:57

No way. Just a sheet. When it gets really cold, I'll add a 4 tog duvet. But I hate being hot and also have the window open all year round.

hedgehogblanket · 16/09/2023 23:59

We put it on again today when changing the sheets

Silkiebunny · 16/09/2023 23:59

Winter duvet all year round, fleece bedding in winter, even though in menopause 😂

caringcarer · 17/09/2023 00:57

We've still got cotton padded throw on top of the bed but just thinking yesterday next week I'll put the duvet back on.

HappiDaze · 17/09/2023 01:11

@DelphiniumBlue yes I love my linen blanket

I looked for one especially because everything else just felt too hot

I also have another blanket I love which feels like my line. blanket and is 90% cotton and 10 % polyester which doesn't have an impact.

Everyone kept stealing my linen blanket till I took it upstairs so I bought the cotton one for the sofa

DelphiniumBlue · 17/09/2023 01:19

Thanks HappiDaze I’m convinced ! Will start looking!

ISeeMisledPeople · 17/09/2023 01:26

I have an 11.5 tog duvet all year round - on hot days it will end up just covering one leg and the rest will be used like a body pillow. On cold nights I'll have my weighted blanket on top. It has come out for the first time since spring tonight - it was feeling cool when I went to bed, but it's a bit too much now that the bed has warmed up.

IfOnlyYouWouldListen · 17/09/2023 01:40

Winter duvet on (10.5 tog), contemplating adding a blanket. Electric blanket also under the sheets has been on a few times recently although that's partly because it eases my back pain!

MrsAvocet · 17/09/2023 02:10

Duvet and a hot water bottle here - it's distinctly chilly tonight.

50lessfat · 17/09/2023 02:27

Went to bed with just a duvet cover and just woke up cold so put the duvet on now too hot 🥵 so now have the duvet over my bottom half (feet out) and the duvet cover only over my top half. Going to try and sleep now. I’m away in the UK South East at the moment and I miss my summer duvet at home think I will get the autumn one out when I get back though. Night 😴

Cabbagey · 17/09/2023 04:18

We had the bedroom windows open all evening so it was too cool for just an empty duvet cover. I made a strategic error and put a thin quilt on...I'm awake now because I woke up feeling like I was in a air fryer.

My DP, on the other hand, has a duvet and a hot water bottle and is sleeping like a baby.

HappiDaze · 17/09/2023 04:22

It was chilly for a bit and now I'm hot

My room is 23 degrees

Still only under my duvet cover

HappiDaze · 17/09/2023 04:24

I shut my window earlier because of the chill but now I'm hot I've put on my fan

DynamicK · 17/09/2023 04:47

Went to bed with a blanket. Woke up as I felt so hot. I put the fan on and it's starting to cool down.
I'm not sure what the temp in the room is but the weather is saying it's 17c.

Tonight1 · 17/09/2023 05:10

I'm finding it really fluctuates at present, I feel cold so use a cotton sheet, then wake up damp and hot and take it off. Leads to a night of flip flopping around.

Definitely no duvet however
