Oh God, I couldn’t have coped with Rob Beckett either!

My friend is suspicious of RG from The Office but I refuse to believe this too!!!

I can't see it being Ricky Gervais at all. He has never gave me a vibe and doesn't really fit the description of the blind items.

I do love Ricky Gervais and have a sweet spot for him, especially after "After Life"

It has to be a trial-by-media stunt. No way would the sexual proclivities of some comedians be a Dispatches special. There’s no obvious institutional link, no cover up. It makes no sense.

A fake stunt, however, is very on brand for Channel 4. It makes KGM tweet then delete make sense. If so, RB has to be in on it which would make sense cause lovely culture wars angle for all involved too. TY as the initial tweeter re Sunday Times makes sense too.

I guess we’ll find out soon.

Finlesswonder · 16/09/2023 13:32

Why is it always comedians? Not singers, not actors or politicians, not on the same scale anyway

ellie09 · 16/09/2023 13:32

When is it? 3pm for the news story?

Boomboom22 · 16/09/2023 13:33

Ross and cordon and to some extent Walliams present themselves as wholesome family men, involved in comedy fundraisers with children. Ml is gay? Rb would shag anyone.

MrWhippyyy · 16/09/2023 13:33

I’m disgusted by some of the comments on this and the first thread.

‘Is that it?’
’Im not interested in this’
’What about XYZ?’

Since when is the accusation of rape not enough for some of you? Whether it’s a rape that has been committed or a false accusation, either are life destroying situations. That some people think this is not of interest because it’s not important enough is hideous. Whataboutery is also disgusting.
Either way, these accusations are very serious. Someone has either been raped or someone has been accused falsely of rape. Both are huge. To suggest that a rape accusation isn’t enough is really concerning. Some posters need to take a long look at themselves and not dismiss such serious crimes because they were frothing at the mouth for more.

I would love it if the Documentary was actually about the power of social media and all this hype is one great big experiment to show how damaging rumours can spiral once a tiny seed has been planted….

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 16/09/2023 13:34

As long as it’s not MM or LE (both stand up comedians I love).

I've never seen MM doing stand up; but I think she's too busy talking about disgusting (may well not be actually true) scenarios on various TV chat shows to be actually doing anything disgusting!

Boomboom22 · 16/09/2023 13:34

Apparently it only matters if politicians or journalists rape despite comedians being in a position of power due to their fame.

Michael macintyre and Lee Evans, def not either of them, not a whisker anywhere of any scandal ever.

The MM I was referring to is male and a stand-up comedian but he is also seen on comedy shows too and does some hosting.

SprogTakesAQuarry · 16/09/2023 13:36

@HeadAgainstWall0923 its def that. I really can’t see how it isn’t.

All the timing as well - dispatches on Sat pm, Sunday times tease for 3pm on a Saturday. Things getting stirred up in sm on a Friday night.

MeinKraft · 16/09/2023 13:36

'It has to be a trial-by-media stunt. No way would the sexual proclivities of some comedians be a Dispatches special. There’s no obvious institutional link, no cover up. It makes no sense.'

There's no obvious institutional link or cover up because we haven't actually watched the programme yet and we only know of 1 person who's involved.

Boomboom22 · 16/09/2023 13:38

I think the institution is either bbc children in need or red nose day.

I really love Michael, I’m dying to go and watch one of his stand-ups ❤️

Exactly.

And it's clear from recent scandals (eg Philip Schofield) that there are massive institutional failings

A "biggest story of the year" for me would be all those very famous, powerful and/or rich men who flew in disgusting Jeffrey Epstein's so called "Lolita Express" (and included a Royal and their spouse) would be charged if applicable with offences if legally deemed appropriate.

That's never going to happen.
🥲

Where has it been stated that there are allegations of rape? I don't think there's anywhere near a consensus on what these so-called allegations are - another reason for why the secrecy with initials when no sod seems to know what they're accusing these celebrities of.

Brand stated serious criminality but even he didn't have the balls to say what. Maybe they all took turns guarding Osama Bin Laden's cave.....

Cadaver dogs on the island and anywhere he owned, leased would be a start

I’m dying to know which female MM that poster was talking about though 😂

There’s only one obvious MM in my eyes and I don’t think OP was referring to that one 😂

In his video he makes a big point that the sex was consensual - implying that there are allegations that it wasn't

Thmssngvwlsrnd · 16/09/2023 13:50

I think someone's confusing Miriam Margolyes for Michael McIntire.Easily done.

notmetodayagain · 16/09/2023 13:50

Wouldn't surprise me if this was just a publicity stunt to send Dispatches' ratings through the roof. 😂
