Apparently the biggest news story of the year is going to break over the weekend

It’s all overTwitter, or X as it’s now called. One of the Sunday papers is working on a massive story and all staff weekend leave has been cancelled. Channel 4 is showing an episode of ‘Dispatches’ tomorrow night at 9pm but haven’t said what it’s about and lots of people are putting two and two together and saying it’s in conjunction with the following days papers.

The only thing I have to add to the mix is that Beth Rigby has been missing off Sky News since the summer. She's their Political Editor and has been nowhere to be seen since the summer. Now she doesn't work for The Times, or Channel 4, but still...

Yes, I WFH & have Sky News on in the background. Beth has been conspicuous by her absence for several months, to the point at which I was concerned that she might be ill. Poor Sam Coates appears to be working 16 hour days to fill in for her.

I wouldn't have thought so, there's nothing on him. I think even the TRAS would be hardpressed to bring convincing lies about him to a dispatches program.

Oh, no, I know they wouldn't find anything true about him - but they're already well-versed in insisting until they're blue in the face and the hair that their beliefs are truth; and a great many people and institutions have swallowed that.

Why would it be a clue? How else would you spell “their” when referring to something belonging to a person

Unless there has been a secret court case I think they are skating on very thin ice. Even if there was a legal court case it could be argued who ever it is won’t get a fair trial as it has already been out in the public arena and people have had their minds made up

Whilst a lot of people are accused there are a lot who haven’t done anything yet see their careers trashed

Has no one learned anyting from Huw Edwards, unless someone has broken the law I dont really care what they do in their private life and if they have broken the law then it needs to be reported and dealt with in that manner.

Channel 4 have an extended Dispatches Special tomorrow which reportedly involves a ‘mass expose of an obscene amount of high profile comedians’ who have ‘incredibly shocking accusations held against them, including footage that’s been collected over the last 3 years’…

I think it's going to be ostensibly about one comedian - but then they're going to open up the house of cards of all the very high-profile people who are implicated in it as well - comedians or not.

If it is a "celebrity", it may well be one who had a prominent role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Some time ago I was told that evidence was being gathered about some unpleasant and criminal behaviour directed to a number of colleagues including one who refuses to work with the celebrity. And they definitely ARE bothered...

It would be incredibly 'meta' (real meta not the company) if it was about how rumours spread online and innocent names get exposed - with this thread and tweets on X and all the other online stories used to show how swiftly this can happen.

KGM posting and removing a tweet could easily suggest this. He's too smart to be caught out by posting something he shouldn't especially about Dispatches.
