Apparently the biggest news story of the year is going to break over the weekend

It’s all overTwitter, or X as it’s now called. One of the Sunday papers is working on a massive story and all staff weekend leave has been cancelled. Channel 4 is showing an episode of ‘Dispatches’ tomorrow night at 9pm but haven’t said what it’s about and lots of people are putting two and two together and saying it’s in conjunction with the following days papers.

I can’t imagine Dispatches spending time divulging scandals about comedians/a comedian, not the Sunday Times, unless it’s really explosive news.
I’d have thought it’s more likely to be politician(s) or royalty.

Has anyone suggested scrapping HS2? Not a scandal in the salacious sense but an obscene waste of money and destruction. Just got a news article through saying the gov is having cold feet over the project.

Also a while back Mark Williams said they'd be a big story on someone the police have been trying to charge for years. He said a national treasure who hasn't got long left to live.
(Mark Williams was the guy who exposed Jimmy Saville.)

Completely off topic but I work in the rail industry and we need HS2 badly. The project execution has been a disaster, but the justification for it is very sound.

Or it's journalistic hype to get you to watch it. I mean, C4 Isn't going to say 'here's a moderately interesting programme you might want to watch' are they?

Yes I get that but I mean it in relation to people saying Libya/Morocco are more important and some people reacting to that, I don't think people shouldn't be interested (we are all here) but I understand the reaction of is that really the biggest story of the year. Not sure if that is a good explanation but I can't think how to explain it.
