I went cycling yesterdat with DD in an area not far from our house that's usually busy with dog walkers and families cycling, loads of children around.

This older man was riding his bike completely naked, his 'thing' sticking out in full view. Luckily we passed him quickly as he was coming from the opposite direction and my 5 yo DD hasn't noticed as she was concentration on her cycling.

Then an hour later someone on FB posted a pics from around this area of another older naked man cycling in traffic (looks like a different man).

I told DH and he said I should have taken a pic of him and reported him as it's illegal to walk around naked in public. I'm not from this country so forgive my shock, but is this ok in the UK?

I agree that exposing your genitals in public to non consenting strangers is out of order, but I'm not sure how that would ever be managed.
For example if someone is getting changed at the gym, it would just take one person to say they don't consent for everyone else to have to suddenly cover themselves. Or someone using a toilet and the lock not working and being walked in on.
I can't think of many examples where someone might have their genitals out in public without intending to cause offense, but there are two examples. Perhaps there are more?

I was saying that I don't agree with flashing at all but I don't know how they would police banning nudity all together because there will be examples out there where it can't be policed. Both of my examples given are things I've directly experienced as a woman using female changing rooms and female toilets.

I hate the idea that men use this loophole to expose themselves to women and I question the motives of anyone being publicly naked EXCEPT in very specific circumstances.

Why are you assuming police can't tell the difference between an accidental flashing and an deliberate event- police have discretion and the law usually has some in it as well.

This faux naivety it's too hard and we can't tell the difference - is very modern - and opens up that public space for piss takers and people who want to break down barriers and societal norms for their own reasons and excuse for more police forces to shrug rather than deal with situation.

The naked rambler was arrested many times - now it's too hard to do . The people most outspoken about naked dinners were actual naturalists who said it was inappropriate behavior and worried their community would get backlash.

I don't think you should be posting a photo on social media. A photo should only be if you are going to report this to the police. Age is irrelevant.

It is not the same as the Naked Bike Ride, something organised once a year and at the weekend so easy to avoid.

My opinion is the law should not be so vague, it should be about where you can and cannot be naked.
