I love liquorice. I don’t know anyone else who likes this!

One that hasn't been mentioned: mustard. Not a burn your tongue off English or French mustard. But German or American mustard. I can eat it by the spoonful.

Liquorice here too! And aniseed!
Also Stilton, marmite, anchovies, raw garlic

Apparently I like the stronger tasting foods as such

Goats cheese is nice if it's the sort that's delicate and fresh and pyramid shaped and - even better - covered in grey ash. The industrial sort - fat ridged logs - is IMHO not pleasant at all unless grilled and brown and crispy round the edges.

I really like sprouts, cabbage, kale, spring greens etc also mushrooms, olives, capers, swede and celery. And pickled cabbage. Gherkins OK if finely sliced in potato salad.
Always drink coffee black.
I love fizzy water.

I DON'T like cake, sweet biscuits, jam, pastry, chocolate, most sweet fruit. Cranberries at Christmas are a particular hazard, Nor liquorice. Nor sweet relishes/pickles. Nor cream or ice cream, or - urgh - custard.

Not keen on sweet potatoes in abolutely everything savoury, which seems inevitable in some restaurants at the moment. However sweet potato wedges sprinkled with paprika/cayenne/sage/olive oil/salt and baked in a hot oven are ok. But ordinary potatoes better....

Don't eat meat. Or fake meat or fake cheese. Hate soft eggs (soft boiled, soft poached etc) but hard-boiled egg mayo on thin sliced granary bread sandwiches with cress or (less good) watercress and lots of black pepper can be very good indeed.

Thatsshallot1967 · 09/09/2023 21:30

Yeah liquorice too, plus olives, marmite & vegan cheese (yum).

muchalover · 09/09/2023 21:33

Vinegar. Used to have vinegar sandwiches as a child (just bread and vinegar).

Liquorice.
Turkish delight.
Parma violets.
Bounties
Gooseberry anything.
Rhubarb.
As a veggie I miss corned beef.
Dried figs and prunes.
Grapefruit.
Tapioca, sago and semolina puddings.

@muchalover
I love vinegar! When I was a kid my Nan used to take me for pie mash & liquor every Saturday morning. Any Londoner will tell you you can't have pie & mash without drenching it in vinegar.
I put it on everything, much to DH disgust.

Bitter gourd

Goat's cheese, anchovies, coffee creams, parmaviolets, basically loads that have been mentioned already!

Adore pineapple on pizza, I buy a cheese feast and add pineapple to it (actually having that for tea tonight).

When I ate meat I used to love black pudding.

I love Turkish delight, coffee creams and anything flavoured with violet and rose.

Yes me too. Fight you for them?! Except I've been brought up to share.
