King or superking?

ErmWhatever · 08/09/2023 11:23

Buying a new bed and wondering if its worth paying the extra for a super king over a king size.

For anyone who has a king, do you ever wish your bed was bigger?
Anyone with a superking, would you care/ notice if you lost the extra inches?

TIA

Super king definitely! We notice if we have to go back to a king size!

Boymummyofone · 08/09/2023 11:31

Super king for sure! I didn't think there would be much difference but our neighbours have a super king and it feels so much more spacious than ours, I wish we'd gone for it

Accismus · 08/09/2023 11:32

Depends on how big your bedroom is. We got a super king when the dc were little and still coslept (it didn't work quite like i expected it to, they would starfish and somehow still manage to make me sleep right on the edge of the bed).

That room is now ds bedroom and has a double in it - there is sooo much more floorspace now that the super king has gone.

we had a king. got a new super king bed last year and it’s fabulous- i couldn’t believe how much difference it made. if you have the room super king all the way

Gottoloveatakeaway · 08/09/2023 11:35

Superking for sure, we'd never go back. I definitely don't sleep as well when on hols and we have king bed.

ToughFuss · 08/09/2023 11:35

I would definitely go for a super king, providing your bedroom is large enough.

HappyCatty · 08/09/2023 11:36

Super King without a doubt. Can a bed EVER be really big enough?! When we lived overseas, we had an emperor size, (200cm x 200cm). I miss that bed! 😂

Isheabastard · 08/09/2023 11:38

I lived overseas where it’s very common to have two single duvets on a super king bed.

It makes changing the bed so much easier. You can still cuddle but don’t loose your duvet to a duvet hog in the night. Plus you can have different tog weights if one partner likes it cooler/hotter.

Mummypete · 08/09/2023 11:40

Definitely super king. If we ever sleep in our spare room which has a king, it feels a lot smaller.

FunkyMonks · 08/09/2023 11:42

Super king we have super king and it is so worth it especially when both DCs decided to climb in with us in the mornings there's plenty of room.
I look now at double beds and wonder how on earth we use to sleep in that 🤣.

SallyWD · 08/09/2023 11:42

Super king is amazing! Can't go back to a king now

TheActualDuck · 08/09/2023 11:42

Definitely go for the super king, you will not regret it. We have a king size and recently slept in a super king on holiday, now we are back our king size feels tiny.

hittingtheshelves · 08/09/2023 11:42

I regret buying a king. We're both tall - we should have realised we'd need extra space. And as soon as you add a child or 2 in the mix it's a real squash. Next bed will be super king for sure.

Say what now?!

We're relatively friendly with our neighbours but can't say I've ever slept in their bed! Grin

I knew I wouldn't take much convincing. I'm already sold and I can't bloody wait 😁

We had a super long, and have recently replaced it with a king. I wouldn't have a superking again - it was a bloody mission everytime I had to change the sheets as it's just too big. It was fabulous whilst we were co-sleeping, but now there's only two of us in the bed the size was complete lot unnecessary and it dominated the room as well.

Purpleavocado · 08/09/2023 11:51

Super king is a bit overwhelming unless you have a huge room, I wouldn't buy one again

vinoandbrie · 08/09/2023 11:53

Super king fan here!

KeepScrapingBy · 08/09/2023 11:56

Super king without a doubt! The downside is that when I go away I feel very cramped in a standard double or even a king size bed!

Well worth sacrificing some bedroom space for a more comfortable night.
If changing the duvet is difficult have a single duvet each.

SpaceRaiders · 08/09/2023 11:56

If you have sufficient space a super king is the way to go. Good quality bedding is ridiculously expensive though!

SweetAndSourChick3n · 08/09/2023 11:57

Definitely go for super king!

CheersToMe · 08/09/2023 12:02

Super king.

Check the measurements- a king is a measly 6" wider than a normal double. What use is an extra 6" in the bedroom?

TooOldForThisNonsense · 08/09/2023 12:05

Super king all the way. We just got a new one delivered this week it’s absolute bliss

Mushroo · 08/09/2023 12:07

Another one in support of the super king!

We’re moving house and I refuse to look at houses where the bedroom wouldn’t fit one.
