Iron bed covers

Extremely boring I know , but do you iron your bed covers once you have washed them?

Sometimes I think why bother ,who sees them? And then I think I am being lazy 😂?

I use my steamer when they're on the bed!! So easy imo, works on everything, fitted sheets, duvet and pillow cases.

CountryStore · 06/09/2023 12:23

They sound very uncomfortable 😬

whirlyhead · 06/09/2023 12:24

I never iron bed covers or sheets. Life is too short and they look fine unironed.

My partner has once or twice mentioned it would be nice if they were ironed and I've told him he knows where the iron is and how to use it.

He hasn't mentioned it again!

I do because I prefer to iron and fold in one go to put them away neatly. But I iron most things.

Of all the chores that have to be done its by far my favourite. Don't judge anyone else for not doing it.

I do general cleaning far less than others because it's less enjoyable. So I have a mildly grubby house with drawers full of nicely ironed clothes. Suits me!

ChilliNoodleGoodness · 06/09/2023 12:29

B and m sell decreaser which u spray on sheets and it takes creases out. Not to be confused with degreaser when doing a quick shop as I found..

DRS1970 · 06/09/2023 12:30

I never iron bedding. It gets wrinkled the first time you use it anyway. It looks just fine unironed.

Ihaveawonderfulpartner · 06/09/2023 12:32

I iron my bedclothes and love getting into a freshly ironed bed. That said though I do iron everything. I'm one of those that loves ironing.

DelurkingAJ · 06/09/2023 12:34

I iron nothing regularly. DH sends his shirts out for ironing. If I have a special frock that needs ironing then I dig everything out of the garage.

GigiAnnna · 06/09/2023 12:35

No, I can't be bothered. I've got enough ironing already.

Oldermum84 · 06/09/2023 12:52

I never iron. Anything.

jannier · 06/09/2023 13:11

If you fold them right they don't get too creased it comes out once on bed. I don't iron anything all creases come out of clothes by body heat before I leave the house.

Amwondering69 · 06/09/2023 13:12

Absolutely not !

Bumble84 · 06/09/2023 13:16

I purposely buy ones that have a crinkly top or seersucker type bedding. I have no time for ironing bedding but I don’t iron much. I probably do other things that people think is a waste of time though!

LivLongAndProsper · 06/09/2023 13:18

Nope. Definitely not.

StanleyGoodspeed · 06/09/2023 13:19

I do not iron anything anymore, the joy of arthritis but I have never ironed bedding in my life😁

Made me chuckle! Definitely why I opened the thread!

Me too!

Talipesmum · 06/09/2023 13:29

I would love to get into freshly ironed bedsheets, BUT not NEARLY enough to actually iron them myself. Tbh same goes for some of my clothes and if I’m not ironing those that are seen in public, my bedsheets are a long long long way down the list.

Nope! I hang them up neatly on the line as soon as they're out of the machine and fold them carefully when dry so they don't need ironing. I never tumble dry them.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 06/09/2023 14:11

I'll just say I haven't owned an iron for decades

saveforthat · 06/09/2023 14:14

Never iron them. I line dry them and ironing (if I could be arsed) would iron out the freshness.

ThePoshUns · 06/09/2023 15:09

Never! My mum does but I can't see the point.

Delatron · 06/09/2023 15:51

I once tried for guests, I don’t know what I was doing wrong but took ages. Like 30 mins. I was astounded that people did this regularly..

geoger · 06/09/2023 16:00

I run the iron over once they’re on the bed. I always iron pillow cases tho - makes the duvet cover look ironed even if it’s not.
