How long do you think it will take dh to notice?

Dh works at the local tip and comes home with so much stuff. Most of its brand new!!

Anyway, he came home yesterday with 4 metal letters that spell out love. He has them in the hallway.

Whilst he was at work today, I changed it to vole. How long do you think it would take for him to notice? Grin

February if my household is anything to go by

Soubriquet · 04/09/2023 17:27

1 month hehe

pepsimax00 · 04/09/2023 17:30

Oooo maybe a couple of days.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 04/09/2023 17:47

Around a year or two.

Soubriquet · 04/09/2023 17:48

Well he has walked past it several times and not noticed a thing. My poker face is unfortunately rubbish, so he’s very suspicious but I haven’t done anything like this before and so far he’s noticed nothing

I think you'll crack before he notices. It's like an endurance sport.

fudgecat · 04/09/2023 17:51

I do this in the garden centre

CrunchyCarrot · 04/09/2023 17:53

Heheheh! That's brilliant. I think it will be some time before he notices, and I reckon you will give the game away by cracking up at some point! 😂

I do this in all sorts of shops that sell lettered items. Mugs, cushions, candles… it’s addictive.

Soubriquet · 04/09/2023 17:59

I’ve done it shops…hard not to but I’ve never done it at home, mainly cos I would never buy stuff like that. I don’t mind it for free though

He'll notice when he has visitors and he is doing the panic tidy - you know the one where he flings everything out of sight into random places so they are lost for months but denies he did this cos he has no recollection of it. When he finishes tidying he will step back, look around and notice it. If you are not having visitors soon it will be Christmas when he is putting up decorations.

TheGoodBanana · 04/09/2023 18:14

I sneak new plants in and see how long it takes DP to notice.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 04/09/2023 18:16

Could you not double dare it by adding a pretty little print from The Wind in the Willows in the hallway?

BackToOklahoma · 04/09/2023 18:20

What do you do with all the stuff he brings home? That would do my head in. 😬

You're missing the point.

From a man's perspective I will guarantee he has 100% seen it.

The game is now to see how long it does indeed take for you to crack......

We're not as stupid as you think us blokes!

CurlewKate · 04/09/2023 18:26

@Soubriquet you have made our afternoon! Dp is trying to leap to his defence "Aww-he was just trying to do something charming" while laughing hugely. It's just our sort of humour...

Soubriquet · 04/09/2023 18:28

He found it! He walked by it again, stopped suddenly, thought his brain had glitched and was staring at it for a good minute before he realised what happened Grin

He's just become bored of the game. Nothing more. He's known all along.

Damn, where do I get myself a man like that? Mine always decides that the bloody lawn (not even visible from the patio) needs an urgent cut, or the garage needs a tidy. Meanwhile I’m running round trying to make the bits people will actually see look half presentable.

It would be an infinity in this house op. Unless you popped it in the garage…..

Conqueeftador · 04/09/2023 18:34

Wow. That was impressive op😂

Badundun · 04/09/2023 18:35

Some delinquent in my household spelt out "Mum is a boob" on my fridge with the alphabet magnets. It took about a week for me to notice.

And then another week to notice that someone else had changed it to "Mam is uniboob" 😡

Trust me, he didn’t know. He’s not that easy.
