Is it in pristine showroom condition or a mobile skip?

First day back to school for DC, so I had a quick clear out and vacuum.
Resulted in a small bag of child related detritus that just seems to collect, so not too bad all things considering.

What’s yours like?

Its clean, I don’t like dirty or messy cars.

Bluevelvetsofa · 04/09/2023 10:54

Bit dusty, but clean. It is kept in the garage though.

Seychal · 04/09/2023 10:55

Gets a clean once every two months. Summer holiday travelling and day trips means they are 'lived in' around this time of year.

lljkk · 04/09/2023 10:55

I reckon it's cleaner than average. Everything in there is there for a good reason.

Glorifried · 04/09/2023 10:57

Better now I have a car with a tiny boot. Far less dumping space!

allhellcantstopusnow · 04/09/2023 10:57

Absolute mobile skip. I try, I fail.

Polis · 04/09/2023 10:58

Clean on the inside but it doesn’t get washed as often as perhaps it ought to. I live in a frequently muddy place, so it seems pointless.

Mollyplop999 · 04/09/2023 10:59

Mine is always covered in mud, hay odd socks. My OH's however is pristine. Drives me mad 😂

WhatHaveIFound · 04/09/2023 11:02

Clean inside and out as it was valeted a couple of weeks ago. I don't keep clutter in the car at all, not even when the DC were young.

BigBoysDontCry · 04/09/2023 11:05

Cleaner than my house. I don't have young children anymore though. It's a small car and I quite like doing it. It's a controlled and manageable area, house is a much bigger challenge!

HippyChickMama · 04/09/2023 11:14

We have two cars, both in good condition externally, mine is usually clean inside although often has coats, umbrellas etc cluttering up the boot. Dh uses the other one for work and tip runs etc. it's like a skip on wheels. We're doing house and garden renovations so the boot is currently covered in detritus from garden waste and carting plaster, gravel and soil bags home

Champagneforeveryone · 04/09/2023 11:16

In between.

The outside is filthy as we live next to a building site. The inside is reasonably presentable. The mats are covered in dirt and gravel, but the seats are leather so are clean and there is minimal clutter. I'm much improved as I've got older - in my youth I was banned from the jet wash as my car was so muddy they were worried it would clog the drains <the shame>

Seashellies · 04/09/2023 11:18

I don't have any rubbish in it, but do sometimes find random items such as socks or small plastic figurines under the seats.

OldTinHat · 04/09/2023 11:24

It needs a trip to the car wash and is a bit dusty inside but there's no rubbish or junk inside.

NoodleQueen90 · 04/09/2023 11:25

Mine is in showroom condition inside and out, complete with paper mats over the rubber ones 😂...I can't take the credit for it as my partner washes/hoovers it every week without fail and polishes the outside once a month. I do make an effort to keep it as clean as possible though so he has a bit less to do. Baby due in December so we'll see how clean it is after that. I imagine he will still keep on top of it weekly though so that it's never awful!

Floralnomad · 04/09/2023 11:25

I have 2 cars one is 12 yrs old and 1 is less than a year old and the insides are clean in both , I can’t stand driving around in a tip .

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 04/09/2023 11:27

It's not full of rubbish but it's filthy on the outside. I've had it since January and it's never been cleaned. I'm debating whether to go to next January and letting the garage clean it!

JamieJ93 · 04/09/2023 11:32

Pristine... only because it's 3 days old straight from the dealer 😂🙄

Missingthegore · 04/09/2023 11:37

I have just done a tip run this weekend with a load of cardboard so it is empty but in need of a vacuum and wiping down.
The outside is dusty and I could do with filling up the windscreen wiper fluid
It's on the to do list for the weekend.

BIossomtoes · 04/09/2023 11:39

Pristine. It’s five weeks old. Ask me again this time next year.

Sgtmajormummy · 04/09/2023 11:49

The back seat is a disaster.
DDog refuses to sit on his waterproof seat cover and braces himself against anybody sitting next to him when we’re moving.
At the moment there’s sand and dried mud plus a towel, a stick and a chew toy.
And nose prints on the window.
The rest is fine.

subolooo · 04/09/2023 11:53

Very much a skip on wheels. The back is full of dog hair and it needs a good wash as the roof bars have spider webs on them

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 04/09/2023 12:10

I hardly ever look in the back, but there is usually a collection of half-empty soft drink bottles, shoes and snack wrappers whenever I do. I clear out my own mess from the front every time I leave the car but I don't worry too much about dusty/muddy footprints etc because there's really no way to keep that at bay.

My current car is my absolute dream car, I got it brand new and I'd only had it three days when DS sneezed while eating a chocolate hot cross bun and coated the windscreen, passenger side window and dashboard in gooey chocolatey-ness. Hmm

Shade17 · 04/09/2023 12:17

They’re pristine. The toys are cleaned before being put away. They live inside under soft covers.

fancyfrogs · 04/09/2023 12:18

Not too bad at the minute. Could probably do with a wash and hoover but it's not full of as much crap as it has been before
