Today has been a bit rough.
What is something nice you have experienced recently?
Can be anything! Let’s keep it positive!

I encouraged dragged my kids around a scavenger hunt walk for a prize draw this week. We won a £100 toy shop voucher!

Stressyfab · 03/09/2023 13:59

That is amazing!! Congratulations! Bet they’re not complaining about being dragged now 😂

My MIL broke her leg. She is almost 100 and, for a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with the hospital, there were few surgeries taking place this morning and she was not in the list. One kind nurse met my DH at the coffee shop and remembered him as she helped when FIL was in the same hospital.
She said that she would try her best...and she obviously did as my MIL is undergoing surgery at this very moment.

Stressyfab · 03/09/2023 14:28

God that made me shed a tear. I hope for the best possible outcome, you must be so relieved

That’s so lovely. Hope she recovers well x

Took a beloved pet to be put down, and the vet said, you know what, there is no need to go through with this today, he is not suffering..... 6 weeks later, he is still not suffering, and I am still enjoying his company. It wont last forever, but this extra bonus time is very special

Nodeepdiving · 03/09/2023 14:33

I took delivery of my new bike on Wednesday, having been without one for 3+ months. I have my freedom back, and some seriously nice wheels😎

DNAwrangler · 03/09/2023 14:34

I’m feeling a bit shite today (lately!) too. My five year old son just got on the sofa and snuggled up to me. ‘Love you Mum’ he said.

Errolwasahero · 03/09/2023 14:34

Today didn’t go as planned, but we managed to divert it into a good day anyway and enjoy each other’s company and the sunshine.

Laurdo · 03/09/2023 14:36

Took my DSD to softplay today. She was sitting on my knee cuddling me and I said to her "we'll be leaving in about 15 minutes so you better go get some playing in". She said "but I just can't stop cuddling you" and squeezed me tighter. Obviously I was ok "oh ok then" and just enjoyed the cuddles.

Why has that made me cry???

Fingers crossed your MIL makes a swift and full recovery.

People like that make the world go round x

Sorry you’re having a rough day OP. Hope it gets better.
I’m just on my way home from a lovely long weekend in London with DH. We very rarely get to spend quality time together. There were several highlights including a meal in a beautiful Italian restaurant & seeing two West End shows.

Whattheduck · 03/09/2023 15:25

My dd 18 took me out for lunch today she’s recently started working part time whilst at college and said she wanted to treat me to thank me for being a lovely mum.I am now full up and ready for a nap.

Echobelly · 03/09/2023 15:28

On our penultimate day of holiday last week we went to a waterpark for a day, which I can find a bit wearing, but we all had a lovely time and now the kids are older doing that kind of thing is so much easier and not stressful.

LemonDrizzle10 · 03/09/2023 15:32

I have wanted to go on a riding holiday for years and years. I found a place in Wales and the lady rang me yesterday, DD and I are booked to go next year.
This year has been very tough - I can not wait to go.

Stressyfab · 03/09/2023 17:36

This makes my heart happy- I had something similar happen with one of my Guinea pigs before. I’m so grateful for that time, I am so pleased for you both

I was a bit short of money due to mortgage rise so i have rented out my bedroom and moved into the box room. Ive used the first months rent to re kit my teenagers out with clothes that are above usual budget and im using the rest to take my bf on a date night. He pays for more than me usually.
The rent going forward is for bills/ an emergency fund but this month its for nice things.

EllaMenopee · 03/09/2023 17:52

Dh stopped with to ds to get lunch on his way home from a match yesterday, about 15 miles from home and managed to lose his wallet. He realised very quickly but it was gone when he went back. Cards all cancelled and not too much cash in it, but massive faff to replace driving licence, passport card, work id... A very nice man arrived at our door last night to say he'd found it and took a chance on the address on dh's licence still being accurate. Such a relief and faith in humanity restored.

Louisetopaz21 · 03/09/2023 18:12

I spent a lovely day in my dh's company, it is always nice and makes me happy spending time with him 💕

AceofPentacles · 03/09/2023 19:09

I have just managed to mow the lawn. A year ago, I couldn't do it as I was so fatigued and would then be in pain for days after. Now I appear to be back to full power!
