Today has been a bit rough.
What is something nice you have experienced recently?
Can be anything! Let’s keep it positive!

We went on a spontaneous trip to our nearest seaside town and found they had an event on, I managed to buy a pitcher plant I'd wanted to get for a long time and bought a beautiful photograph, and we even got to see an aeroplane doing stunts.

Someone I met at Easter made a point of seeking me out and suggesting a coffee. That was really nice as I'm new to the area and a new mum.

My LO has started to cuddle me and say "mmmm" when she does it ❤️

My DH got me some gorgeous rainbow striped rocket dog converse things for my birthday. Ok, not spontaneous but I adore them!

We have had a very tough 2 years with me having a year's cancer treatment and then DS being in hospital for 8 months and just had a lovely holiday to Mauritius which was much needed. Also getting kitchen redone. Feels like things have turned a corner and we can go back to our nice lives we had pre this.

I had a party recently (my first ever) and lots of my previous fosterlings came with their families, some of them shared my home (and a huge chunk of my heart) for just a few months, some were here for a couple of years but they are all happy and very well bonded with their new mummies, daddies and siblings. I love watching their bonds grow.

scoobiedoobiedoo · 03/09/2023 20:02

I broke my glasses and the very nice optician fixed them for free, even though it is not where I bought my glasses from.

weegiemum · 03/09/2023 20:03

I'm disabled and don't get out much. I often feel like I'm chasing people up to come round, but in the last week 2 good friends have got in touch and come round for a natter, one with cake and the other at teatime with a chippy!

I feel loved!

Splodgerbodgerbadger · 03/09/2023 20:05

I start my job next week and I’m looking forward to it.

TerrorOwls · 03/09/2023 20:06

My ds got a part time job! He's been trying for almost 3 months and just not getting any interviews.

Personally, I've been having a tough time and my fab siblings never fail to make me laugh on the group whatsapp. I'm always happier when I read a message from them.
They're too far to see often.

IseeNarcPeople · 03/09/2023 20:06

I was feeling really down and I watched some geese fly over. I always wave at them and this time they suddenly changed complete direction and flew directly over me so incredibly close, only a few feet, chattering away. Made me feel special. I don't care how sad that sounds.
Sorry about your rough day op.

cornflower21 · 03/09/2023 20:08

I managed to grow sunflowers for a first time this year.
They are strong and healthy, love them.

Notgoodatpoetrybutgreatatlit · 03/09/2023 20:15

This is an awesome thread! Thank you for starting it. I have been trying to swim more often to strengthen my back after experienceing awful back pain for nearly a year.
Today the pool was practically empty, the sun shone through the clean beautiful water and I swum 30 lengths at my own pace and my back didn't even twinge!

mommybear1 · 03/09/2023 20:28

Lovely thread. Hope your day has got better OP. It's the 26th anniversary of my DM's passing which is always a sad day but the sun shined today and I managed to get my DF out to the crem with his stylish new walker to visit her grave he was delighted as he hasn't been able to go since January due to fracturing three vertebrae in his back his happiness made me very happy 😊.

Found out my friend is having a baby boy and the news has made me smile all week. In our friendship group there will be 2 girls and 2 boys once he arrives Smile

My very nearly 6 week old smiled for the first time when I kissed him. I had to do it again to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

My dd 18 took me out for lunch today she’s recently started working part time whilst at college and said she wanted to treat me to thank me for being a lovely mum.I am now full up and ready for a nap.

And you had the good grace to accept. Sometimes it's just nice to let someone do something for you. Bet your DD feels proper grown up now.

Catsmere · 04/09/2023 03:39

Trivial but very pleasing, I was in the supermarket car park and a woman called out "Can I just say your hair looks amazing?" (Kudos to Fudge Clean Blonde shampoo making my grey hair mauve.) :)

MixedCouple · 04/09/2023 03:46

Forgot my debit card and needed to do a little shop for LO. Had a tenner and was able to pay for my boots items and that is when I realised the card was missing. Verbalised my frustrations. The shop assitants male and female both offered to loan me some money. I was so touched and told them No but thanked them foe the gesture. I live 15mins from town so could walk back later to get my things. But they were so insistent and I barely go into Boots maybe once every 2 weeks. That really touched me how they could offer such a thing to a stranger!!
