I was being so strong. But I was drunk, and gave in.

Now we are messaging again. No sign of meeting up. But I can tell I am already getting frustrated at his lack of effort.

Yet, I still want his breadcrumbs of attention?

I hate how I am like this and how I have no self respect 😢

Op, he’s is not interested. You will be fine and you need to accept it and stop, leave him alone.

Janieforever · 04/09/2023 08:48

Also he’s not making you feel shit about yourself. You’re doing that a;L by yourself. He owes you nothing. You are not entitled to his attention. Honestly block and leave him alone now. Find something to keep you busy, text on this thread if you have the urge, you will move on but you need to start now.

I know he’s not interested and I know absolutely no good would ever come from him.

But for some reason that doesn’t stop me wanting his name to pop up on my phone, sending me a message… although in the nearly 2 weeks we’ve been messaging on/off again, I don’t think he has asked me one question.

It's an addiction and like smoking, drinking, gambling etc very hard to give up.
Distract yourself do something else. But the best thing is delete his number. You will just keep picking at that scab and it will never heal.
Be good to yourself .

winelover82 · 04/09/2023 09:26

@Jojoanna yes, it is awful.

I am just worried that if I block him, he then stays on my phone, and I’ll unblock him when I am drunk.

Delete his number permanently

winelover82 · 04/09/2023 09:42

But then I know I’ll still be checking my phone constantly to see if he’s replied. As there’s still a glimmer of “hope”.

@Calistano what would you do? I am having an absolute mare this morning!

Is there a good YouTube video that I could watch to get me out of my self pity mode?

You’re strong enough not to need a video on how to be less pitiful - I’ve been there myself with the lady I was dating before I met my DW.
Block, delete, erase all messages then focus your energy elsewhere; I did and a couple of years later I married my wife.

You’re not closing a chapter, you’re opening another. You can do it!
